I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has carried on posting since Chryed/Johnny and Marc left EE. Being able to discuss the story line and read the posts about Dessie's survey have helped remind me of the magic of the Chryed story. And to get over the disappointment of some of the less well thought out parts. I now feel ready to go back and re-watch classic Chryed

I've been a bit absent, although being more of a lurker than a poster I've probably not been missed!

For weeks after 15th November everything was all too raw and too sad and I was only just managing to hold things together. So I stopped reading fic, and stopped watching vids and stopped reading the thread and focused my emotional energy on other things - Johnny's shows next year, Christmas, work, Chrolli.

But I've been slowly, slowly pulling myself together and am now at the stage where I'm not constantly on the verge of tears, and having been enjoying fic and watching vids again. And I have slowly, slowly been catching up on here, because I wanted to read everything, to know what other people had thought about Chryed's exit and how you were all feeling. And today I finally managed to get to this page.
So now I am going to post my thoughts, but I'm going to keep them short.

I feel really privileged to have been part of this community. I'm so grateful to Richard Davidson for those amazing wedding episodes that ripped out my heart and sent me searching for comfort online and led me to the wonderful world that is Chryedville. Through this thread I have made lots of real life friends, had some amazing experiences and through being a part of this fandom my life has changed in ways I can't even begin to explain.

I think a lot of the magic of this place comes from the fact that we are fans not only of a couple, but of two characters who are so very different from each other. To love Chryed (not just Christian or Syed, but both of them) and to want them to be together means to be the sort of person who can love a strictly religious man AND a drinking, shagging party animal; to cheer on an out-and-proud gay man as well as understand the agony of a closeted gay man struggling to come to terms with his sexuality. To want Chryed to be together means to want love to overcome differences in culture, age, sexuality, upbringing, family, friends, experience.

For Chryed to be together (and thank goodness they got their happy ending!) meant that they had to accept each other's differences, forgive each other's faults and to recognise that the love they shared was more important that everything else. And I believe that the same applies to us. To be a fan of Chryed, to ship Chryed, to come to a discussion forum entitled 'Waiting for Chryed to Get it On', well, you have to be open minded, understanding and to ultimately believe in love. Like Chryed, we've had our ups and downs, arguments and tantrums, laughs and hugs. But, after everything that we, and them, have been through, ultimately love has prevailed.

This isn't a goodbye post. I'll still be lurking and posting. But as 2012 comes to a close, I just wanted to post my thoughts and to thank every single person for making this place what it has been and for making me a better person because of it.

I hope you have a good New Year, and I hope you get what you wish for in 2013.

hope everyboday had a Happy Christmas. I've watched the last Chryed week on BBC Entertainment today. It's really over now. Pretty much stayed away from everything Chryed related the last couple of weeks though...
Anyway I've been looking through some files earlier and found the answers for Dessie's survey, think I've never posted them on the thread, so I'll do that now in case anyone's interested:

Survey 1

1. Favourite Masala Queen scene
Must be MQ talk after their ‘passive-aggressive’ fight. One of the best scenes ever for me. Syed opening up for the first time, Christian listening and making clear how much he already cares. One of the highlights of early Chryed.

2. Favourite flat scene (old or new flat, it's up to you!)
‘Too.’ Love the flirty atmosphere, love that they obviously shagged under the shower and love Syed’s wet hair and the shirt he is wearing /important stuff

3. Favourite Masood family scene
Christian being accepted by Zainab and them having dinner together. Masood making a toast to Christian. It was heart-warming to see that progress in their relationship.

4. Favourite Christian-with-Beale-family scene
Christian telling Jane that he has met someone, followed by hilarious Jane dance. ‘He’s amazing’ Awww…

5. Favourite one or both of Chryed with Tamwar scene
When Tamwar visited Chryed during DC week. It was so awkward and lovely and wonderful.

6. Favourite one or both of Chryed with Zainab scene
Syed/Zainab on NYD. It’s hard to choose because Christian/Zainab on NYD is just as amazing. But I guess my heart broke a little bit more when Zainab told her son that he had to live without Allah’s and without her love if he didn’t marry Amira. And Syed being all desperate and begging her to help him… God, that was good! /angst whore

7. Favourite one or both of Chryed with Masood scene
Masood telling Christian about Amira’s pregnancy. You can literally see Christian’s heart breaking there. Mine broke as well. Very painful, very cruel and really good /have I mentioned the ‘angst whore’ thing

8. Favourite Chroxy scene
I really liked the bench talk after piper kiss. It was funny and Roxy was very sweet and comforting.

9. Favourite Syed-and-anyone-who-isn't-Christian-or-a-Masood scene
The talk with Tanya at the salon. Syed telling her about his feelings for Christian (‘first person I ever loved’ awww). Liked their chemistry and syed looked really hot, too.

Survey 2

1. Favourite scene that made you laugh out loud
Not Chryed but Zainab and Masood: ‘What has Christian done? Our son!’

2. Favourite scene that gave you warm fuzzies/made you go 'aw, that was nice'
iPod scene in the MQ. Syed watching Christian and wearing that beautiful look of love.

3. Favourite scene that turned even the hardest, cold-hearted, cynical old grump into a melting puddle of squee. (And if you're already inclined towards the squeeing, the scene that made you squee so hard the neighbours thought a cat was being tortured.)
I think it must be Reunion July 2010 for me. Finally, after all the heartache they are properly together. ‘I don’t think you can go to hell for having loved’ and ‘let’s go home’ is making me weak (and squee a little, too)

4. Favourite scene that hurt your heart, just a little bit
Hebden Bridge talk. More than a little bit in fact. Very angsty, very painful, very beautiful.

5. Favourite scene that pulled out your heart, ripped it into a million pieces, set fire to them and then jumped up and down on the ashes going "bwahahaha, you will never smile again"
Forehead kiss.

6. Scene that made you cringe the hardest.
Amira trying to seduce Syed (blindfolding him, using body chocolate). Just thinking about it is making me cringe again, actually.

7. Scene where you feel most out of sync with general fandom opinion (good or bad)
Mmh, sofa kiss maybe. Not sure about the general fandom opinion but I remember that many neither liked the conversation nor the strangling – I found everything about this scene extremely hot and even the early ‘duff duffs’ couldn’t destroy it for me…

8. The scene that tipped you from casual fan/'those guys are kind of hot' to full-fledged, die-hard Chryedian
Hard to say. I’ve only discovered them in December 2009 and watched the whole story until then in one go – I was hooked right away and knew this was special – but I guess the die-hard Chryedian thing started after NYD 2010.

1. Scene where you most wanted to hug Syed
After his talk with Zainab on his (and Amira’s) wedding day. Close runner-up must be CAG therapy.

2. Scene where you most wanted to hug Christian
SBM, what else?

3. Scene where you most wanted to slap Syed for being a numpty
When he was putting his wedding ring back on for the important Pakistan business with Amira

4. Scene where you most wanted to slap Christian for being a numpty
Black Friday and the whole ‘dream of being a father’ bollocks

5. Scene where you most wanted to reach into the screen and knock Chryed's heads together for being a pair of numpties
Last episode after they had hot AB floor sex, it was clear how much they loved each other and they still decided not to be together

6. Scene you would never ever watch again under threat of torture
Amira trying to seduce Syed (blindfolding him, using body chocolate)

No particular episode, I don’t think. I’m not keen on re-watching surrogacy stuff, most of the adoption eps, almost everything about Amira’s return last year and most of the exit storyline though. Is that enough?

I had a lovely Christmas, thank you. Unfortunately there was no snow, but we had lots of rain instead! In the south west of England, some people had to move out of their homes due to flooding just before Christmas.

Are you still watching EE now Chryed have left?

Hi Alex Great to see you posting again and you have been missed. I am pleased to hear you are feeling a little better now, and hope you have a brilliant time going to watch Johnny in his shows next year.

What a lovely post about Chryed and the thread. We are so lucky to be part of such a wonderful place and watched such a beautiful story.

Thank-you to you, Dessie, Elphie, KatrinaK, Jenn and Mercs for organizing the ChryedCon. I could not go but really enjoyed watching the DVD and reading the programme and booklet. And congrats again to everyone for raising lots of money for two such amazing charities

Thank you for posting your survey answers, they were very interesting to read. I had forgot about the iPod scene - Marc does that look of love so well.

I have at last got around to taking part in Dessie's survey! I hoped to be able to re-watch the whole story line before filling it in but did not feel ready. So I hope I have not forgotten too many great scenes.

Survey 1

1. Favourite Masala Queen scene

From one of my most re-watched episodes - The fight. It has everything:fun, laughter, friendship but also an underlining sadness as Syed wrestles with his feeling for Christian. Brilliant writing, amazing acting and good screentime.

2. Favourite flat scene (old or new flat,it's up to you!)

The flour scene in DC week. Syed looks so worried about the mess and neat freak Christian does not care! A perfect scene to represent why Chryed both fought so hard to be together. They are so different but they just fit somehow and find such peace and happiness in each others company.

3. Favourite Masood family scene

It was very angsty but the scene after the reveal when just the Masoods are left in the living room. Zainab and Mas are being so cruel to Syed but Tam finds the strength to support his brother and say "I thought he was brave." It really showcases the talent of all the actors in the Masood family.

4. Favourite Christian with the Beale family scene

Christian and Jane at the hospital after ABRC. Christian really needs Jane and she is so supportive and caring. And understands how much Chryed really love each other. The hug at the end is so sweet - Christian looks like a little boy wanting his big sister to make everything ok again.

5. Favourite one or both of Chryed with Tam scene

The last scene of Tam and Syed together in the cafe (loads of loads) It for me represents the love and support the two brothers have always had for each other while trying to survive having Mas and Zainab as parents. And Tam's understanding that Syed and Christian belong together.

6. Favourite one or both of Chryed with Zainab scene

Syed and Zainab's scene before his and Amira's wedding. One of the most heartbreaking scenes I have ever seen on TV. Marc and Nina were brilliant.

7. Favourite one or both of Chryed with Masood scene

Masood telling Christian that Amira was pregnant was so cruel and chilling but very powerful too. Great acting from both Johnny and Nitin.

8. Favourite Chroxy scene

The scene in the episode after the reveal when Roxy asked Christian why he did not tell her about him and Syed. Roxy was kind and supportive while Christian looked so devastated and really needed his best friend.

9. Favourite Syed and anyone who isn't Christian or a Masood scene

Tanya and Syed's chat in the salon. It was lovely to hear Syed talk to someone outside his family about how much Christian means to him. I really enjoyed watching Tanyed's friendship.

Christian letting Syed go/forehead kiss (NYD) You could almost hear both Chryed's hearts breaking as they said goodbye.

While I loved all the rest of the ABRC ep. I just did not feel the Zainab going to see Syed in hospital scene. Not sure why as I think Marc and Nina are great together in every other scene in the storyline and Pete is a brilliant writer.

I saw a clip of the forehead kiss scene and loved it. Tracked down the story on You Tube and enjoyed the storyline so much I started watching EE again after many years.

10th November last year. After Phil wrecked the flat.

6. Scene you would never ever watch again under threat of torture

2nd November this year. At the flat when Syed suddenly could not tell Christian he loves him. Even after telling him twice the day before :sleep: The scene made no sense and to add insult 'Camp Cowboy' was talked about - one of the most moving and well written scenes in the Chryed story line. I will never understand how LN could let that rubbish be filmed let alone be put on air.

7. Episode you would never watch again under the threat of torture

The episode were Amira talks Syed into wearing his wedding ring again. Awful writing and dreadful storyline. I felt so sorry for Marc and came very close to stopping watching EE for good.

8. Absolute all- time favourite scene above all others

We have had so many great scenes it's hard to chose, but for me it has to be the wedding vows. They were so moving and heart felt and I have never seen Chryed look so happy. Beautifully written by Pete and wonderfully acted by Johnny and Marc.

9. Absolute all-time favourite episode above all others

NYD Each actor was great especially Marc, Johnny and Nina who were amazing. The writing was outstanding, told with such emotion and respect for each character's point of view. The setting for the wedding was beautiful and wonderful directing. An epic moment in EE 's history.

Oh so many memories..... Thank you Seemoewe and LoveChryed for sharing. I found it quite healing to do that quiz.

My question for chryedians is has anyone watched from the beginning to the end since their exit?

Good morning! Reading all this, I wish I could go back to see everything with eyes
new. I agree, the wedding of Syed and Amira's anthology, obtained
well deserved award, in those times were at least Chryed
nominees. The scenery, the acting, the script, the extras and everything that makes the BBC has the fame and prestige tiene.Todo from beginning to end is
a master class in how to make good television, mainly because
actors are quite credible. Zainab's rage, tears of anguish Christian and Syed can be felt. Syed running without shoes and
the kiss on the forehead, has all the emotional charge of the last kiss.
Sometimes I feel like screaming so to download everything that my heart feels and that makes me hopelessly melancholy.

First of all - huge apologies for being away for so long......I was always a daily poster on here but then I went off to see a Panto in Nottingham and kind of got caught up with that, - then Christmas was upon us and I cannot get on here very easily once I am away from home.

Dessie - huge thanks for extending your poll and I am about to do it - it will be from memory but perhaps the scenes that stick in one's memory is the surest test of what has made the most impact.

Now Christmas has gone, I'll be around a bit more.

Finally - I had a wonderful weekend in Nottingham on 15th Dec, saw Johnny in Panto, he was brilliant and so funny and a wonderful Prince Charming. Got to meet him again and get a hug and a couple of pictures, and have a proper chat. Just brilliant. He was so lovely with all of us and it was a real treat to go before Christmas - getting a hug and a chat, well, best Christmas present ever, what more could you ask for? Bliss....Nottingham was very pretty with all the Christmas lights and a lovely market. Really liked the place. I may be going back a few times yet....:sleep:.....

We also found out about Nina leaving while we were all in the bar at the hotel at midnight, big shock. I've had all kinds of sad / end of an era emotions whirling about for a while. Not really up to date with EE - need to watch 21st Dec downloaded on my laptop and then all of Christmas week on the Omnibus on Iplayer. Won't make too many negative comments but suffice to say I think it's so good that Johnny and Marc took their brave decisions to leave. I am joyful that we got that rarest of rare things, an EE Happy Ending.

I will be posting more often and will save my answers to the poll to post on here, thanks to those who have done so already! x

Good to see this thread still going strong (ish)!!!!

I trust everyone had a good christmas and santa was good to you all. He was to me. I had a good time, with all my family coming together. My new nephew was very well behaved and my 2 were angels most of the day. By the end of it though Lily was cranky and Jayden was exhausted. Both of them were in bed by 7pm.

Looking forward to the new year now. Havent worked out what to do to bring it in yet but by tomorrow i hope to have a good idea.
