I chickened out and didn't answer the survey--just too hard to make the choices. But congrats to those of you who did; I'll be looking forward to reading the results.

I'm still watching random Chryed clips on YT everyday- gives me my fix, I guess, LOL. I did start watching entire Chryed story again, but after a few weeks of episodes switched to watching the Christian clips from 2008. I think I will watch the entire lot, from 2008 to November 2012, some snowy weekend this winter, with my hot chocolate by my side. By that time I should have my new 40" television ready to go!!!

Can someone explain to me about custard creams?LOL Is this a type of biscuit (or cookie as we would call them over here) or a specific brand name? I was thinking I could probably track them down somewhere in Toronto.

Just want to carify though - do you mean 'gotcha' or the bit where Syed and Christian go home together after Christian persuades Syed to report the attack to the police? Cause I think of 'come back to mine' as the Gotcha scene but there is the whole gay bashing storyline in between. or are you thinking of another scene? I don't know ALL the scripts off by heart. (#BadChryedian)

Okay, so I'd hoped to post the results of the survey today - and I'm still hoping it's a possibility - but it's taken longer than expected. Partly because I seem to have developed some sort of life recently (how did that happen?!) and ran out of free time, partly because my internet kept cutting out whenever I tried to access the answers, but mainly because...well, I got a bit emotional reading them.

As in, I had to keep stopping and going and doing something else for a bit because I couldn't stop crying.

Can't believe I've just admitted that, but if you can't admit to such things here, where can you? :sleep: I think it's because a lot of you included DTW in your answers, which never occurred to me as a possibility when I wrote the questions because in my head DTW never happened. The only way I've been dealing with the utter crap of the last 6 months is by not dealing with it or thinking about it or accepting it happened at all, so reading people's poll answers has kind of forced me to confront some things I've been avoiding confronting. (I've also got some r/l stuff going on that may not be helping!)

So poll answers may not happen tonight, but will definitely happen this week - keep checking back, anyone who's interested in the answers, and sorry for the delay!

Hey!Custard Creams ARE a type of sweet biscuitLike a biscuit sandwich with a creamy filling.Here they are called Custard Creams--not a specific brand name,more a descriptive name of the product.Obviously a Chryed favourite-hence the mention in the "flat Scene"

Thank you From when Syed waited for Christian outside the police station (July 31st 09) to the next time we saw them on screen - Superman (Aug 20th 09) We knew Syed fancied Christian, and liked and trusted him as a friend, but he desperately fought the deep emotional connection between them. But seeing Christian hurt, and in such an fragile place, Syed seemed to accept in those weeks that on some level that he adored Christian.

You're right, there is a huge gap here because Christian seems to have come to some sort of peace with the situation having reported the attack to the police and there is warmth and mutual affection and Christian seems more confident and happy and then suddenly some time later we see him on his own in his flat suffering agrophobia and pleading for Syed to come over and no explanation of that leap. Its almost like he only feels confident because of Syed and when Syed's not there the mask falls and shatters. Its a good gap in the story worth writing about, I'll definitely consider it.

I now realise I probably rushed the survey, had just got back home from a long train journey, and was panicking about running out of time, there are several questions where I would now choose different answers. Also memory failure in places! But I'm going to note with hindsight what I might have chosen differently when I put my answers up on here, hopefully at some point today.

Hello everyone On a break at work, so where else would I go?



Don't stress about posting the results - there is no rush I did my survey rather hurriedly on Boxing Day and I am sure I've missed some great scenes, but hey, what can you do? As for DTW, I am with you...I pretty much hated it all and have tried to blank it from my mind. It didn't really fit Chryed, not really; it was all just standard EE - a 'C/D' character exit. A shame. And I tried to blank DTW from my mind when trying to think of the different scenes (and I found it hard to break things down into the correct scenes, so I probably got a few things muddled - sorry in advance) from the survey until the scene about favourite scene between Syed and a non Masood/Christian - DTW is a contender.....I'm sure there must have been some Jane/Syed?? Ian/Syed?? Lucy/Syed....poor lad was pretty isolated near the end! Anyway, if I were you, I would continue blanking DTW out...even if it means you never post the survey results!

Hello all. I have some sad news....

It is with great sadness that I have decided to leave the thread. Chryedville isn't Chryedville without Chryed in my eyes, no matter how many happy Chryed fans we have here. I haven't even been here a year, haven't had a threadiversary, but I have a lot of fun, and I have a lot of memories. My only regret is that I never got to meet any of you. Oh, and that I never joined earlier!! I will forever be thankful to Feather for convincing me to de-lurk. If it wasn't for her, I would've never joined in the first place. But, after nearly 12 months, I feel it's time to move on and go and find and r/l, whatever that is. If, by some miracle, Chryed come back for a one off, and the thread is still going by then, I will come back. But for now, I say my goodbyes. Goodbye everyone, thank you for a wonderful time, and I will miss you all! Happy New Year, and stay safe......

LovebitesI must admit it is sad that this thread is virtually dead but that was to be expected. I understand your reasons for leaving but id hope you'd continue to lurk and pop in from time to time. I'll continue to pop in as well as i know some of us are trying, albeit very hard, to keep this thread alive. I want to keep up to date on fm lives as i'll update them on mine. Ive had 2 kids since ive been on here and as me and my husband are going to start trying for a 3rd in March so as we get an xmas baby, i'll hope to keep everyone posted with any developments there. I feel like Lily has been brought up as a chryedian and Jayden saw out the last few eps as he arrived before their final eps aired. Its a shame that any other kids we have wont be brought up by this love story but im sure youtube will come in handy. Lily and Jayden have been lucky to be born whilst ive been on here but my next kids and we want 5, wont be as lucky unfortunately.

Anyway so long lovebites. Hope to 'see' you some time. Have fun with your life, whatever one of them is!!!!

That does help, thanks! We have lots of different kinds of sandwich cream-filled cookies over here, but I just don't recall any with any type of custard cream filling. It may just be a difference in descriptions used between UK and Canada biscuit manufacturers! I will check it out, for sure, but I think perhaps I wouldn't be insulting Chryed if I settled down for hot chocolate with a box of my fave Peek Frean Assorted Creme!

And I totally understand your emotion with the other poll results, Dessie. Take your time. I think the stance I have taken with the DTW stuff is that I sort of accept on the surface that it must have happened because Syed and Christian both said it did, but I take it as code for 'Syed did a really bad thing' and don't dwell on what the bad thing was. It was the lying about it that upset Christian more, so let's just focus on that, and not what he was actually lying about (which we all know is totally out of character and a ridiculous plot-driven nonsense). :sleep:

I still miss our boys, but have come to a more robust, less raw place over the festive period. I'm very much enjoying Chryed's new life, as brought to us by Lyra and Mushroom Hair. Thank you ladies. And I may even have been working on the next (and probably last) chapter of my own story 'Ignition'. Watch this space...

Hope everyone's had a good festive period. I'm here on a thread for two characters who left a soap two months ago at 2am 'cos my social life is rocking. Just like the good old days. Anyway, thanks for the survey, Sylae! IT WAS HARD. I was so amused by how my ranking of the storylines was more or less in chronological order.


The truly evil question was asking us to pick between the weddings. Intellectually, I know that NYD was the superior episode but, damn, was Christian and Syed's wedding everything I'd wanted in an episode for a long time. Honestly, I think if it hadn't been for the twist nonsense tainting it, it might've pipped NYD to the post, because the question was which wedding did I prefer :sleep:. It's hard for me to think about Christian and Syed's wedding without getting pissed off (thanks again, EE, love you too!) about the stuff that came afterwards, but despite the way it came about (still love ya, EE) it really talked about things that I'd wanted talked about for so long, and they got a super long conversation and I'm pretty sure Syed actually did MORE TALKING than Christian and it was wonderfully in-character and the actual wedding was just spot-on. I will watch it again at some point. Eventually. So, yeah, that was evil! It was so hard.

I actually didn't mind the cheating that much (keep reading, guys ) compared to the ridiculous 'I love you' rubbish, Syed's random personality change (yeah, Syed's always been so arrogant and vain and prideful? He has many flaws but... um, he was only like that for his first few weeks and it was made obvious that that was just a persona and not who he really was I literally don't think I could hate that episode more... anyway). I could sort of maybe get my head around the cheating itself, but the 'no he didn't, yes he did, no he didn't, OH YES HE DID' stuff was actually appalling. Not just as a fan, though it was soul-crushing as one, but just genuinely terrible storytelling, even for EE. I will never be able to square the wedding with that twist. And then they didn't even DO anything with it? They went against everything Syed's character had become for this, and then instead of a huge row they had Christian ignore it for a couple of days and then go 'as long as you still love me, it's all right'. and then pretty much ignored the fact that Syed deceived Christian into marrying him (as in, Christian wouldn't have married him at that point if he'd known) and never really dealt with that beyond a line in their last episode. Not that it would have been worth it, but it would've at least made EE-sense. But, meh, I actually mostly found the Danny stuff hilarious (jenn and Mercs and I once made a list of all the hilarious/terrible Danny lines and I nearly choked to death ), so it didn't bother me that much, it was just the twist and everything afterwards (minus the last couple of episodes) that made me want to set fire to things.

Oh, and choosing which blackhole I'd liked to have seen classifies as torture, I'm pretty sure, omg. I could've put all of them.

This is long... I'm really bored and I've sort of managed to formulate my feelings beyond the red mist of rage I lived in for the last two weeks of the storyline Oh well, no-one is going to read this anyway!

Ha - not true! I have read it! And I pretty much agree with every word.
While there are many things I could hate about lots of parts of Chryed's story, not just the exit, I can pretty much reconcile myself to all of them and not let it overshadow the good stuff. Or at least try and forget it and focus on the good stuff. Particularly the happy ending. Viva Chryed!

Well, some days just take you by surprise.
There I was with a big To Do list and all the best intentions, and instead I find myself still in bed at 6pm having not got up or got dressed or even eaten because I was kidnapped by Christian and Syed having rather an intense discussion about honesty.
As you can imagine, they had rather a lot to talk about, and what I thought would be one chapter, has become three, but it does mean a bonus double post for anyone enjoying the story.
It's still not finished, they still have some talking to do, but they won't be doing it today. I need to sort stuff out for Nottingham tomorrow!
So here is some new Chryed fic. Not that anyone needs to search to find things any more, but old habits die hard.

Another log in after a very long time!

I just want to say I am so looking forward to seeing you all again for our mega panto meet up tomorrow. I look forward to seeing old faces and new ones - and seeing Johnny for the firs time EVER!

I've met Marc twice now but tomorrow shall be my first Johnny experience and I can't wait for it!

I think I'll be watching the con DVD later tonight to get myself extra physched!

Anyway, I was just thinking the day how much I miss Chryed's chemistry. When you look at the current pairings on EE and how void they are of any chemistry :sleep:, I really miss the passion from Chryed all the more.

Granted, this was lacking in the last year of thier relationship due to screentime and horrific storytelling (), but when they were onscreen, they were so natural together. ANYONE could see they were a couple.

Marc and Johnny just clicked. They had that onscreen magic, which is so hard to find these days on TV.

Although we have had bigger blackholes than this, I do miss them. I don't think I've ever loved a couple as much as these two, not even Shannis, whom I was a hardcore fan over.

Chryed were something else.

That is what hurts me the most too, and what still makes my blood boil when I think about it; they couldn't even be bothered to DO anything properly with the story. They did all that to them, to their characterisation, to their story and it was basically for absolutely nothing?? OK then... Have I told you how glad I am that they are all (all four of them :sleep out of there?
