And, yeah re: crappy current couples on EE. I've been forced to watch an unacceptable amount of EE over Christmas (i.e.: any) and the only couples that are decent are the ones that pre-date Christian and Syed: Max/Tanya and Zainab/Masood. Though, for me, Max/Tanya has run its course and Zainab/Masood has never been the same since the Yusef stuff, the actors are still fab together.


I will never get over it. I could rant all day about how awful it was, but I won't. :sleep: Well, not the whole storyline, which I thought was all right tbh, just everything between the twist and their exit. Which I'm aware was, like, 4 episodes, but they were four AWFUL episodes. :sleep:

Yeah, I absolutely LOVED their wedding and was sad that Johnny and Marc were going after that because they'd really shown their worth in that episode- they were so, so good- and then that twist happened and I was like 'oh thank GOD they're leaving, I couldn't handle another six months or whatever of this level of storytelling'. So, thanks, EE, I guess?? :sleep:

Also wanted to say lovebites (and anyone else who has more or less left WFCTGIO) that I totally understand that it doesn't feel the same any more and that you don't feel like being here anymore.

Though I have to admit, I made so many embarrasing mistakes writing my answers... Not in the actual scenes (I think...) but in "describing" them; of course it wasn't Tam and Afias mehndi but their engagement party where Tam said that about his brother and his boyfriend, the convo between Syed and Mas I meant wasn't ON BF but the ep before (the same as the Christian/Zainab talk/row in the flat), and the last () Syed/Janine-scene must've been mid/late August or something, not July/August... Not that this changes anything in the scenes I've chosen, but it bugs me that I got it wrong and it makes me feel like a bad Chryedian... )

And yeah, it was never GOOD or anything like that, but I could deal with it even if it was tough. But after that... just NO. Awful. And you're of course so right, it's not even the s/l in itself, it's the completely appalling storytelling . If the story in itself isn't good, at least the storytelling and characterisation should be... y'know... coherent... from a bunch of PROFESSIONAL STORYTELLERS... /But no, not thinking and ranting anymore about that as I quite like my sanity...

Where did I say I had a life? I definitely haven't acquired one... unless watching unhealthy amounts of Law & Order SVU counts as 'life-having'...

I genuinely thought it was okay up until then. A bit boring at times, but nothing awful, and there were some really enjoyable eps. I never really had a problem with anything that happened. I mean, the Danny/Syed stuff in theory was tough I guess, but I could just never take it seriously and just spent 3 weeks or however long it went on taking the piss. So it was fine for me and I was quite enjoying it if anything. And then that happened. It must be said that their exit episode helped me a lot because I thought it was great. It didn't make up for anything, but it did take the a lot of the sting out of it. And having Syed actually acting like a human being after two bizarre weeks was pleasant too.

For me it took about a week of feeling numb yet murderously angry after that until I could start taking the p**s out of it all. And yeah, the last ep really helped me to start healing again with them both so I'm getting better I suppose...

Yeah, I loved the last ep (and the ep before, where Syed was actually acting like a human being again ) and it did help me. Though I've only really hardcore rewatched one bit, no prizes for guessing which I should have a proper rewatch of it because I genuinely did love the whole thing, I'm not just shallow.

I envy you so much. I wish I could have taken anything good out of the last episode. Even the tiniest split-second of something that could have helped me deal with the bollocks that preceded it. But I loathed every second of it - much like I loathed pretty much every second of their last 12 months on screen, only worse - so I think that's why I can't move past how awful it all was. I've only been able to deal with it by ignoring it and pretending it never happened - which is why people's poll answers came as a bit of a shock I think, was successfully repressing!

Sorry I've been a big wimp and not been able to deal with the answers. (Yours were fine Clarkey, don't worry! I got you meant the engagement party. ) Have put them together now, just need to finish writing them up, but didn't see a lot of point posting them tonight when half of Chryedville is in Nottingham.
