I'm not surprised that she felt things hadn't been right at EE for a while, the writing recently just hasn't been as good for the Masoods as it was in the 2009-2010 period, helped by the family's working relationship with the Beales as well as the early days of Chryed.

About the sitcom...”It’s a sitcom called Fortunes Fall...murder most horrid meets league of gentlemen. It’s quite bizarre, Marc says he’s typecast me in this..he’s written a part for me called Bob Hewson, her real name is Burjinda Hussein but she wants to be this white lesbian detective and I just think it’s fun? that there’s something like that so just go for it!”

Phil asked have you managed to find a network that’s going to show this? He can't wait to see the clips.

Nina:” “Probably...(laughing) we’ll probably invent our own at this point! But yes it’s a good piece. It’s nice to be inventive and creative again. I found that the most stifling......"

There was also a very funny bit where she talked about the footise scene and how her foot would never have reached where it was supposed to! Philip acted her having her chin on the table in order to be the comedy foot!

I LOVE that Marc is writing, he has the mind for it and a totally twisted, dark, naughty sense of humour. That was clear from both Nina's stories about backstage at EE and Marc's take on Vince in Tape. If he expands into writing I'm sure he'll have a very strong, unique voice so I'm really, really looking forward to this!

Hello Lovely Chryedville!!

I've been away so much it feels a bit weird, but it shouldn't. I said I would post some Notthingham reports.... and here is one....

First of all I should explain I've been up there 3 times, so I've decided to break them down into 3 types...1) on stage, 2) Johnny meets and 3) mad Chryedians (us lot who went....many times...LOL.) So without further ado, first of all - and it's going to be the only one tonight as tired and haven't written the other's yet..........but promise more will follow.....


On Stage!


7 Panto Balls.....all different ....all fabulous.....

• Johnny entering the stage as Prince Charming, charismatic and charming with his ‘horses’ – \hot men waving their plumes of tails ......Johnny admiring ......all mince and no meat – epic!
• All Johnny’s little ballet leaps throughout every performance – loved them so much
• Prince Charming and Dandini lost in the forest – a recipe for extreme homo if ever I saw one – so sexy and funny
• Runaway Baby – unleash the sex on legs machine and he did – every single time, amazing dancing, singing and sleeve ripping.....
• Mucked up Matinee on the final Sunday - Johnny dressed as a stag, holding Dandini in his arms and I never realised until the last moment when the head costume came off – epic surprise! JP in tights – brain in meltdown!
• Johnny being the most amazing Prince Charming and charming us all with his ballroom moves with Cinderella – he’d do a good Viennesse Walz on Strictly.

• Fake snow....some of us hated it, some of us loved it - I didn’t mind. It did smell a bit like toilet cleaner, but it was magical anyway
• The magical flying horse taking Cinderalla to the ball....I’m a big kid and I thought it was totally magical every time.....and once I cried....admittedly not really about the performance but all of Chryedville and all that it has meant
• Sheila Ferguson as the sassiest Fairy Godmother was a sight to behold - she sang to the heavens. She was good, and funny and by the end, she had accepted us as she’d been worn down by our bonkerness and we admired her epic cleavage with admiration
• Cinderella - I loved Aime Atkinson.....I thought she was good and a very funny Cinderella. A real star, and a very good actress.
• The Grumbleweeds. – where do you begin? It was their show and it showed. But I loved them!! Have you had an accident that wasn’t your fault? Keats is a poet. Jeremy is on the roof. Welcome to Bradford Working Men’s club. I take Viagra, “can you get it over the counter?” “If I take two”. “I’m an assistant” “Everybody knows what you with an invisible ball” - You had to be there......
• The sexiest Prince Charming ever.. ......and dare I say it – probably a bisexual Prince Charming ......:LOL – feeling up Dandini, flirting with Buttons, and being all Alpha male with Cinderella....as only Johnny can do.
• Singing and dancing with amazing grace and skill, despite feeling ill and we couldn’t tell – a real trouper .
• The Ugly Sisters – totally amazing costumes, so funny and absolutely panto beyond words can say Nicole and Tulisa, I salute you!
• Johnny finishing the show with the cast....all of you up on your feet – we were of course.....to sing “I’m a believer” – just amazing and brilliant.

Final performance - he shouted out to us all so many times...'I'm in love with you' during 'I'm a believer' - it was magical

DTC was also apparently in the audience on the final night...I'm sure he did well to avoid all of us in our bonkerness.....but it was a real thrill to know that the man who created Chryedville was in the house.....

I think it is safe to say he might have noticed us all.....I'm saying nothing....:sleep:

Thank you to everyone I have met up with during the 3 trips for the most amazing fun and laughs......

I'll do a different report about us meeting Johnny and also general Chryedian bonkerness later on.

Awww thank you!! good to see the thread is still going I have a big to do list for the thread.........so am going to be around more....I know I keep saying that....but it was just these incredibly important Panto balls that kept getting in the way. ......

And my 5 hour train journey - each way - it's long way from where I live! So worth it though.....Johnny is pure magic and made for the stage...what a perfomer.

I have now put my programme in my theatre box with all the other programmes I've collected over the years.

It's also fab to hear DTC was there. I will always praise that man for original (and true) Chryed.

I had to LOL when I met my friend today, who asked me if I knew Johnny. (She saw my panto picture on facebook and just assumed we knew each other. ). She then commented on how hot he was (great taste :sleep

I'm still so happy that I got to meet him finally. He is a diamond and so lovely to his fans.

I've been contemplating coming to one of Johnny's upcoming events but I think I may have to pass. I've just got too much coming up over Summer which is really going to sink into my bank balance :sleep: ), also going away for a weekend with friends at the end of this month, MOT and road tax running out at the same week in July. When you factor in travel, hotels, tickets...it gets to much. I have to be practical.

However I'm hoping Marc and/or Johnny have something coming up towards Autumn;/winter as I'll have a better handle of my finances by then. Well here's hoping.

A big thank you to coulditbemagic, towers, who me? and KBambi for letting us know that Nina was on TM and what she talked about. Hope she has a much happier 2013 to look forward to. But great news about the sitcom Marc is writing

Oh that's intreaguing.

I wish the massoods could just have their own show to be honest.

I could see them have a sitcom with lots of comedy moments.

That was another funny part of the interview...they played the theme music from an old comedy sitcom for Nina (It was called Terry and June about a long time married couple) and Nina said that's what they call them at EE..'Terry and June' and they took the mickey out of 'the Masoods' for actually being like a sitcom family going to lunch together etc.

But it's a sad truth they could have filled a regular drama sitcom with just finishing off the stories they never did properly with them, just off the top of my head... Tamwar's recovery, Zainab coming off the drugs Yusef got her hooked on, Syed living as an out gay muslim. Syed and Christian living next door to the in laws would provide material galore especially with Ian on the other side and they wasted the comedy potential of the Masoods accepting Syed and Christian but still being awkward, instead we jumped a little hastily to the mother in law to be foot rubbing stage.

Not sure how this happened but the fic I posted yesterday seems to have acquired a second chapter.

A quick heads up to anyone lurking that Johnny is on Daybreak on ITV this morning, between now and half 8 - and he's just been shown, looking all stubbly and very in character for Zach in ACL!!

Towers, coulditbemagic, Who me? and KBambi - thank your for the Nina info about TM - I've now watched the interview on ITV player. Really nice interview, I've felt very sad and mixed up about Zainab going but watching that made me feel better as it's clear she was ready to move on and at the end of the day I want them all to be happy and fulfilled in their work. Brilliant that Marc is writing a comedy, sounds very off the wall and typical of Marc. I bet he and Nina are having a good laugh together working on all that - I really hope it makes it to the TV screen.

Who me? I agree about all the missing Masood material - *sigh* have learned to get over it now....but it's annoying to think of what could have been. Oh well.

The main thing for me - they are all happy and free and doing other stuff that interests them.

For anyone still watching EE, W/C 4th February is for a big week for the Masoods.

Plus, it seems Zainab's last episode is possibly on 8th February

Nina Wadia implied on The One Show yesterday that she handed in her notice a few weeks after making her decision in January, which is around the same time as Marc Elliott, so I wonder if Zainab's exit and Syed's exit were tied together a little by the producers, with Masood and Zainab's big fallout over Syed the beginning of the end for them?

It could well be that the reason for Syed back-tracking as a character is that the producers needed Masood and Zainab to start to fall out again big time, which Masood's 'where's the respect for me?' a big early hint.

Thanks KBambi I have not watched EE since Chryed left, but I am thinking of watching Zainab's last episode. Nina is such a brilliant actress and Zainab was an amazing character, especially in the MQ days. I think I have loved her, hated her, laughed and cried with her - what an roller coaster of a journey for the character, Nina and the viewer.

I saw on twitter that Pete Lawson mentioned that his next EE episodes are 5 and 7 February!!
So it looks like he's done a lot of the writing for this big Masood week and for Zainab's exit story... Pete cares about the Masoods, a lot, so that's good news... Didn't Nina say in some interview that the writing for Zainab's end story was really good... well... I guess we should have known who it came from....
