I think this too, painful conversations in America, then they got swept up in the holiday. A bit of therapy in Birmingham, but that has now moved from looking at their relationship to Syed examining his own life with his parents. I could see him continuing on for a while on his own, because he's really got into it. He's more objective about his parents, and their faults and mistakes, and kinder to himself, he can't have his buttons so easily pushed, and he's able to forgive his parents and see them as flawed but it's made it easier to love them. Christian has got his needy insecure side under control, and his bossy dominant side is better too. Except when Syed wants him to be bossy (gutter again)


That would be nice. I can actually visualise Tam becoming quite bitter if he's let down again, would be an interesting way to take him for a while, I think.


I'm not so sure....could definitely be either way I guess. If I was writing a return (ok, I've written an entire one in my head now............it was impossible not too) - I think for soap impact I'd have it as a shock surprise.

Or perhaps Christian knows (Masood tells him on the phone just before they come down on the train) and he doesn't tell Syed because he (Christian) can't handle it. He should have done but he doesn't.

BIB 2 - painful conversations definitely happened, can imagine them, ouch. But it's making me want to write one.

I need to stop writing scenarios of a possible return, it's like having an illness! Just my way of coping I guess, imagination always takes over. Will shut up about this....going back to America.

I know, I feel that too. Even just after the talk in the AB they were in a more open, honest and real place with themselves and their relationship and the strengths and weaknesses than they had been in a very long time, and it just went on from there. In my head it did anyway.

personally I think Syed has moved on from DTW, Birmingham giving him a new start and more self confidence, I hope that he will realise that it was a blip, because my heart tells me that he and Christian, would know that is what it was

America......

I see them arriving in Florida, loving the nice warm sunshine. They are a bit battered, and are quiet with each other. Syed is shy in front of Linda. Seeing his mum observe Syed makes Christian appreciate and remember all the things he fell in love with. I don't think they are able to talk about all that happened very openly while they are in Florida, and are busy seeing Jane and Syed is getting to know Linda, so it's all a bit hectic and they have to sweep it under the carpet. Linda is bowled over by the man who tamed her son, and she adores Syed, and he can do no wrong....Christian is happy to see her approve of him and he puts on his rose tinted glasses for a while, as he needs to and he wants to.

Then they go off on their own....they go to New York, and it's all so exciting....they go to some shows, and see the sights....and then they have a big talk, the first one, on the top of the Empire State building....and it's all very angsty and difficult. Christian goes off in a huff, and goes down in the lift on his own. Syed stays up there and looks out over the city. He's really sad and sheds a tear, he wonders if they will ever heal their scars.

They go back to normal, they go overboard in trying to be loving to each other. Lots of gestures and presents, trying almost too hard. It's too painful to confront. They travel on and see the Grand Canyon. They are so mesmerised by the enormity of it, and the beauty, they finally find their voices again. The scale of it all puts things in perspective more. They begin to talk as the sun goes down, and talk all through the night. This is the big talk, the healing one. By sunrise they are in each other's arms and they walk back to the hotel....and make love over and over and don't leave the room for two days.

OMG......can't believe how much my imagination is in overdrive, lol I wasn't ready to think about all this for months but now I am. Think I might try to write this! ......

I love how Syed caves and tells Christian about his ONSs without Christian saying a word.

Wow, what an amazing group this is! I so wish I had found this place a few years earlier than I did!

I haven't thought about where Chryed might be in much detail (it's because I spend too much time on YT watching Chryed clips, lol) but here are a few thoughts about what might have happened/be happening:

-I think they stayed in Florida for several months, with maybe a trip to New Orleans, if they were around until Mardi Gras. I hope they went to Key West, had a blast,and bought another of the Key West zip code tee shirts, so that they now each have one, lol.

-I'm sure Sy got on well with Linda. After meeting Zainab back at Christmas 2008 at Ian and Jane's house, I'm sure she found him to be an absolute pussycat in comparison, no matter what she knows about Chryed's problems, lol.

-I think the boys spent a lot of time just being together, trying to get over the pain and hurt of the previous months, knowing that if they work at it, they should be okay. Sy still has a lot of guilt, but he's taking Tanya's advice, hoping that eventually Christian will forgive him for cheating.

-When they go back to the UK I imagine they sneak into Walford to rent a van and pick up their stuff that the Masoods have been storing for them ( BTW- whatever happened to Christian's toy chest??? ) and then head to Birmingham where Amira and new hubby have rented a flat for them. Of course they cannot wait to see their little princess Yasmin again! I hope she has stopped picking her nose!

-As for work, I see Sy getting away from business, finally realizing how rubbish he is at it, lol, and maybe getting a job at a college as a teaching assistant ( isn't he supposed to have an economics degree?) This will give them some regular income so they can work on paying back Mas and Zee. If that proves too boring for him, he can go on to something else. Maybe he will do some masseur work, too, to bring in extra money and pay off the debts quicker. Christian will likely go back to working at a gym or as a trainer, but I see them maybe planning on opening their own little catering business, more like the original Fit for a Queen business that Christian and Ian and Jane started. The business will of course be located in the Gay Village of Birmingham.
-They are happy and content, spending as much time as they can with Yasmin. They may still decide to adopt a child, but only when both of them are ready.

-And of course, as others have already noted, they have the big sofa back!!!! They spend much time on this sofa, cuddled up together, with hot chocolate and custard creams.
