So, has Rylan been good for ratings?

I think Rylan has improved his act as the series has progressed. I'm not saying he's a great singer, but he has a certain charisma, and can be very funny.

Whereas I tend to pop out and put the kettle on when James is singing.

I don't think he's attracted viewers, but I think ratings would be lower without him. Basically I don't think he's good, but I think he's definitely not bad.

I'm only watching because there's nowt else on that appeals to me, I could read a book instead, I suppose.

I'm only watching because of him! It's SO boring this year and he provides something happy to watch. It's a Saturday night, I'm not a music executive. I watch the television for light hearted entertainment and Rylan provides that. If I wanted to critique everything about a music show, I'd watch a music show.

X Factor is nothing but an entertainment show, that much has been obvious since Chico.
