I was shocked to see Tess Daly's dark roots showing at the Wembley SCD broadcast.

Isn't she a real blonde?

If she is going to die her hair blonde she should do it properly - and also her eyebrows and eyelashes.

I'm shocked.

Whatever next? Dani / Louis / Robin style tattoos?

If you did not realise that her hair is not really blonde then she does not need to dye her eyebrows.

Eyelashes are always dark even for blondes

If you are shocked at dark hair roots then do not ever go outside there are dark roots everywhere, you may not be able to cope

I've always wondered why there are more blonde females than males.

Oh see last line for (admittedly weak) irony hint.

I'm told that the hair is dyed dark to start with and then blond, allowing dark roots to show through. It makes people think that you're not grey, that your natural colour is black. The roots are phoney!

Hey Megs, jokes apart, is that (possibly) right. That's cunning.

In any event I check elsewhere for confirmation

My OH tells me that it's fashionable to let your dark roots show, thereby proving that you're not grey.

Don't know...I'm a natural blonde...I have no eyebtows

I thought this was a reference to Tess's northern roots! I don't think I've ever watched an SCD series without some reference to her accent.

There are hardly any grown women who still have the blonde hair they may have had in childhood.

Or even her blouse. She left her skirt in wardrobe.

Like most blokes I don't (usually) get involved in this sort of thing. And also like most blokes I fail to realise when OH has had her hair "done".

You'd be close, but wrong, she is from Derbyshire.

Different type of roots

A link has been posted on USENET to an article about Tess Daly's family history.

This is true, but her accent is "all over the place."

So as not to start an old and repeated argument, I shall plead the fifth.

That isn't true. A natural pale blonde is highly likely (althought not always) to have pale eyelashes and eyebrows. I should know as without mascara and pencil mine can't really be noticed. It is just the percentage of natural pale blondes is very small.

Errol said that this is actually a new Celebrity trend to show their roots to prove that there is no grey, some even go to the lengths of dyeing their roots as well to hide the grey.
