She was given the lowest Cha Cha Cha, Rumba and Samba scores so far in the competition (her CCC got lower scores than even Sid's Ghost Busters CCC).

The only time she has been anywhere near the top (well deserved IMO) was with her White Wedding tango.

She's had a 3, 4 and 5 from Craig.

How that equates to favouritism in the judges' scoring I don't know. What do you want, minus marks ?

I don't believe for a minute they would choose Victoria over a better dancer in a dance-off as their scores show they have not shown any favouritism towards her. However Lisa is another matter.”

You might say the reverse though, are they marking Lisa high to create a backlash and Victoria low to mobilise support?

Victoria is being undermarked but I don't think Lisa is being overmarked.

I agree. I get annoyed when ppl keep talking abt Lisa being overmarked just coz she's big. How insulting. Lisa is getting good marks coz she can dance and that's the ONLY reason. Honestly Terry, I wish some posters had your common sense.

High does not necessarily mean over marked. But to some it might. Hence my point.

I don't think anybody's saying she was overmarked simply because she's big. People seem to be saying she was overmarked because the dance was littered with timing issues to the point that she trod on Robin's foot, there were moments where she appeared to go wrong or forget steps, the splits were extremely ungainly, the samba rolls were dreadful, and her latin routines tend to lack basic content in favour of stuff like the extended side-by-side sections (which make it difficult to tell if she is actually progressing as a dancer) and look too samey because in addition to that she never tries anything more diverse than 'big girl having fun'. All of which are perfectly valid criticisms.

In other words, it does rather smack of manipulation, but of course I could be reading too much into it. There may be some here who know more and are closer to the show itself. I am merely an observer.

What do you think? Do you think the public vote is genuinely taken into consideration? Does it have any sway at all?”

Clear bias in favour of Victoria Is this the same Victoria who came joint bottom of the leaderboard at Wembley? The fact that she survived is down to the public vote....does that mean that the public are showing a 'clear bias' in favour of Victoria? Assuming you are insinuating that having a 'clear bias' is undesirable then the public should be ashamed.

I like Victoria and I really want her to be a good dancer. I've been willing her to suddenly blossom and blow me away (or at least be a little less skeetery ), but I'm starting to give up hope that will ever happen, and now I'm content if she makes some small improvement week to week . The judges have probably scored her fairly (well, a bit generously this week ), but their comments have been exceedingly kind and generous in the circumstances and I think it's reasonable to see that as bias too.

We had this discussion last year. The BBC is manipulation period although it likes to pretend otherwise. I don't watch their news/website for that reason. People seem happier living in a pretend world this is just another aspect.

I agree and it might shut a few people up too although they'd probably still shout fix!

ITV don't publish the public vote just to see how close it was. They publish it because they were found to have been ignoring the public vote on some shows as part of the great phone-in scandal a few weeks ago and now have to prove they're not doing it again.

Of course the vote counts!

I don't discount the 'spin' put on things by the BBC. VTs, fake rows amongst judges, crazy marking, pimp slots and so on and so forth.

But I've never known a winner who wasn't massively popular. Some go by the wayside but the public gets what the public wants in the end.

Yes Pippa there are some very sizest people about, Lisa's good marks are purely down to her very good performances, common sense is in a short supply sometimes.

Well, maybe some FM's need to take a leaf out of your book Terry instead of being nasty abt you. They would learn much me thinks.

Strictly is really revving up a gear now there are 8 left. It's exciting!

A fair summary IMO. Some people are just prone to selective reading.
