That stupid stage in the middle of the floor

Why do they have that annoying stage in the middle of the Wembly floor? It's stupid because they could be taking advantage of the huge floor.

I have no idea it's pointless if you ask me.

Why do they have that stupid rest of the floor round the raised central stage?

I think it'd actually better if they made it a slightly bigger size and more regular size and all of the dances were contained within it. It'd actually make the dances more visible that way, and defines the limits of the floor a lot more. As it is, they either have to limit the amount of travel within the dance to limit it which restricts the dances, or make it a dance of two halves with an inevitably awkward transition from the floor up the steps in the middle. Particularly for any dance like a quickstep which needs a lot of travel; there's definitely not enough space on the platform thing to contain it, but if they stay on the floor they end up just going around in circles looking like they're doing laps around the place coz the platform stops them from doing any kind of diagonal movement. It also means the judges are more likely to miss any mistakes - if they're on the opposite side of the platform then the footwork is completely hidden
