people are fed up with the whole show. All the debarcles, loss of viewers, crazy judge/producer calls, no-one cares anymore and I think those two being in the bottom two is just part of the backlash.

I would say a few years back (or even last year) no way would this have happened.

But due to the shannanigans of everything, its just deserts
