Gosh,

XF has really gone downhill in the last two years. To be honest, Simon, Cheryl and Dannii leaving were the final nails in the coffins. Their trying to just flog a dead horse now.

People put the show out of its misery, the results are embarrassing, their losing by over 2 million to Strictly in the ratings and their acts are starting to flop in the charts.

I think XF has had its time and they should quit it after this year.

I think they may as well axe this show a year before their contract is up. This result has just costed another 2 million viewers to switch off, or worse, even more...

I'm not watching after this week. Ella was my last resort favourite. I literally had the last 5 left, so I'll be switching off and sticking with Strictly only.

I thought it was bad when Carolynne, MK1 and Jade were eliminated! (and Lucy walked).

Only blame the people that caused the mess in the first place. Peter Fincham should buy The Hit from Ireland and plug that as the next big thing whilst X Factor dies its slow death.

After next year, it will be over, that's what they are saying.

And lose an autumn/winter TV highlight? No thanks.

Still one of the best shows on TV. Just see it for what it is - an entertainment show first and foremost, and then you'll enjoy it more. The drama is excellent.

Or you could just chose not to watch it and let us who enjoy it continue.

'The acts are starting to flop?' 2 of the top 3 artists in the charts are from X Factor, Cher Lloyd, One Direction and Leona Lewis are huge worldwide, Amelia Lily just had a #2 hit, One Direction are #1 in albums and singles charts. Yeah, that's a flop!

A part of me wants the show to be kept as it makes great TV, but another part of me wants the show to end as it is giving people an easy way into the industry and acts can find the format mentally challenging.

From Dermot's "Thanks for sticking with us", I think even the producers realise that this is probably the beginning of the end for it.

Why would they? It's still one of their highest-rating shows.

Their acts are flopping in the charts? Didn't 1D just score a #1 and Little Mix #3 (after both of their previous singles went to #1?) Hasn't Olly Murs just released a new single too? Cher Llloyd is also huge in the US and is currently a judge on a Disney talent show programme thing.

Don't most the other ones have about 6 viewers between them these days?

I posted this in another thread but it applies here as well:

I begin to wonder why people are being forced to watch this show. If it is indeed the shambles that it is then there must be something else on the telly on a Saturday which could be less infuriating.

Does every show that you don't like need to be sabotaged?

I can only imagine the outrage if people didn't like Last of the Summer wine, Doctor who or something else? What other creative ideas could they come up with to derail them.

Honestly this insistence that the show needs to be destroyed because people don't like it is a bit tiring when the obvious solution is to just steer clear.

It is also obvious that people just want to hack other people off for some masochistic pleasure I will never understand.

Quite!

They'll hang on to XF until the ratings fall through the floor.

Whats so irritating, is that the X Factors down fall has been self inflicted by the producers, the judges, and some of the acts!

If they could get the formula right the show has longjevity!, It seems they are doing the damage themselves atm.

Last night was a joke, I mean it was ridiculous and lets be honest its been like that for the whole series.

We all know that Rylan shouldnt have been picked for the live shows, Nicole's to blame for that!. We also knew that a scenario like last night could happen.

Its just dissapointing really because The X Factor used to be a blummin fantastic show but now we end up with this!

At which point ITV will fall through the floor and television will be saved.

I doubt it. They have a new rounded edge font logo. That will pull viewers in in their masses.
