I watched the programme last night, but missed the end part where they were cooking (or rather Rosemary was) the meal and eating it ... what did he say? And what did they get, for that matter?

He's just a bit feminine.”
No. Lots of the women are less whiney than him. He's whiney and self-indulgent, not feminine, since that's not an inherent characteristic of being female and, clearly, men can be whiney and self-indulgent, too.

Yes, that's the issue. He's self-indulgent. It's not an unchangeable characteristic he has no choice over.
Remember we only see edited clips, and only ever see a few seconds out of 24 hours for any of the campmates (apart from Helen, through no fault of her own). For all we know, Hugo might not be like that most of the time. Who knows? But yes, in the clips, he does come across as very pessimistic, and I would hate to be chained to him for any length of time.
When Rosemary was bossing the camp around in a a tone that parents use with young children, I could see why some of them (not just Hugo) was a bit snappy and rude. It came across as a bit overbearing and patronising. But she was trying to help the camp, and I hope that Hugo told Rosemary that the rice and beans was delicious and we just didn't see it. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt so far, but he needs to get out of his sulky mood quick.

I agree. I think the rot set in when there were 2 camps and he was with Nadine, who has a pathological disdain for the upper class. He has decided that he doesn't have anything in common with anyone and he hs completely given up

Spot on I'd say. He now wants out of there and is making sure that happens sooner rather than later.

Well not all women are feminine either... I didn't say being female was any guarantee of being feminine.

He'll be getting my vote, the ungrateful little s**t!

yeah he will be one of those that will be genuinely happy to get voted off. he let himself down by not even trying to connect with the others
