Exactly. I'm always happiest when it goes to deadlock as then it's truly about what the public want and not about saving someone over a more popular contestant.

Several of those four went to deadlock. Apart from Melanie going,
personally I thought the right person went each time - not because of their singing but because of the other factors that contribute to having, or not having, 'the x factor' (apologies for cheesyness

To me, Carolynne seemed really unlikeable, Kye seemed really creepy and Jade was dull and relied too much on the sob story (and shouldn't have got into the finals ahead of the little girl with the black hair), so personally I was happy each went. I thought Melanie was a great singer and seemed nice, but I guess she'd got a bit samey with belting out something every week and that's why she wasn't getting the votes.
It's all subjective
