Daniel Beddingfield Sounds Like A Girl
MartinR
06-02-2002
I know this song has been out for a while now but for the first few weeks I thought it was a girl singing.
Then I heard that it was a bloke who made the record and thought he was like Ian Van Dahl who just has female vocalists singing. But no, when I saw the video it was him singing.

Did anyone else think it was a female singer ?

They've speeded up the vocal track, that's why.

I have heard a version where it isn;t speeded up as much. Mot sure where or when thought.

I saw it on an ad for a dance compilation. Strangly, on dance compilations a lot of the time if the track isn't a remix then it's either slowed down or sped up.

The video is the slower version. If they sped it up to match the mix on the radio then he would be walking around quickly like Benny Hill.

I reckon he's a 1 hit wonder myself.

How did it become a hit?It sucks!!!!!!Chances are if he produced something good it would stall at number 15 or something. The best hits never make top spot.Take for example rap music. It is the best genre of music in the world but what does the UK do?They virtually ignore recent brilliant tracks by the likes of Dr Dre,Ludacris,Nelly,MOP,etc etc and buy shite rap like What Would You Do and Cos I Got High by the truckload.

Beddingfield had to increase the pitch of his vocal on his computer so that it fitted to the track.
If you've seen him sing the track live, he aint got a girl's voice at all

Key103 and Galaxy never bother to tell me who sings the song, so when i saw it on MTV Hits and it was a lad i thought - dam!

there was another one like that years ago cant remember who now and it turned out to be a lad!

heh heh

.........Nelly,

Nelly!?!?!

Sorry, but I think Nelly is awful. He doesn't know whether he's a rapper or a singer! I love Hip-Hop, and Nelly clearly isn't Hip-Hop IMHO! Plus he's so boring.

I do agree that Dr Dre, Ludacris, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes (Break Ya Neck is 1 heavy tune!! ) etc etc are good though.

Has anyone noticed that there seem to never be any threads about hip-hop on these forums? We only ever seem to read about all these damn "alternative" bands - the stuff you find on MTV2 (which makes me sick).

Hip-hop's sposed to be the biggest selling music genre in the world so how come no-one ever talks about it!?

Beddingfield got a fat load of cash to make his first album. I wonder how that will do.

Remember White Town. All the fuss about him and his record he made at home. Never heard from him since.

I like rap music too. A regular listener to Westwood, Choice FM and the excellent All City Hip Hop show on XFM.
