"People think their favourites are safe so they don't vote"

Even if all her fans voted I believe Ella would've still been in the bottom. I somewhat had a feeling way back that she wouldn't win the competition and would come in about 3rd or 4th.

Also I was thinking Tulisa didn't make such a hoo-ha about Jade being in the bottom 2. This shows Ella must have been her favourite in her category and she put more energy into her than the other two.

I do actually find the voting thing interesting because I have been asking friends, colleagues and family if they vote and so far I have only had one yes and a couple of people who admit they have voted for the final "some years". Who are these people that vote every week?

on this morning holly said british public should feel guilty for not picking up the phone and voting.

Come on, its not like not bothering to pick up the phone for children and need, Ellas not a starving person in Africa who needs our help

No Tulisa! It's people thinking their acts are so safe they can get them to sing the phone book every week & it'll be OK! Arrogant & complacent song choices are what cost Ella her place. That version of "You're the one that I want was absolutely shocking! She sang it beautifully - but really? Just because she can sing ANYTHING doesn't mean you can just give her ANYTHING to sing!

I have never voted once and I find it strange how many votes they say they get. Series 5 finale got 8 million votes. I was like seriously? But I suppose that's when the competition was actually good and people really cared about who won. Does Dermot still say how many votes are cast in the final and what have they been for the last few years as I didn't really watch those series tbh.

That is actually shocking. Why the hell should someone feel guilty for not voting for somebody in an entertainment show? Especially now we see that the majority careers don't even last that long any more. Viewers have less guilt on their hands because Ella left than the producers who kick out real talent at JH stage to make room for the crap people.

Ella is no Adele.

Adele sings some beautiful ballads, but the arrangement of Ella's song was wrong. Would you turn Someone Like You, Make You Feel My Love or When She Loved Me (OK not Adele, but performed by Sarah Maclachlan and written by Randy Newman) into an upbeat number, the opposite style of the originals? I wouldnt

I know Tulisa and i like her, but she's sometimes too pig headed and self centered to see the bigger picture.

You can't be angry with people for not voting. It costs money, maybe they have better things to spend their money on. Maybe after years of seeing their vote being discarded continuously by underhand tactics and dodgy happenings they decided there's no point voting. So if people don't vote that's their choice.

You cannot be grumpy and moody and shouting your head off..last year she won because people did vote for her act, this year they did not. You can't have it both ways.

Agreed, agreed, agreed. The egotistical nature of the X Factor judges is ridiculous, demanding that people should be voting and 'how dare they watch the show and not vote'. Honestly, do they not realise that 99% of people watch the X Factor for the following reasons:

1. There's nothing else on TV on a Saturday night unless you enjoy equally irritating 'you must vote or else!' shows like Strictly.
2. People like to watch people perform in a light entertainment show.
3. They have no plans for a Saturday night.

Honestly, the pathetic marketing ploy of forcing people to pay to vote due to OMG-GUILT is just unbelievably pathetic.

Surely there will have been some people (and more for all we know) who didn't vote for UJ, Jahmene, Rylan and Chris through thinking they were safe, so maybe there isn't any justification for her remarks.
