Ella hitting painful high notes
CBFreak

I think it sealed it for me last night when she finished her last song with a high note she simply doesn't have the capability for. She tried to hit notes beyond her range every week. I think this is what ultimately failed her as I'm sure pets around the country were howling and meowing at the pain of it.

I hated her singing high notes.

I haven't really seen much of this years show, but saw last night's sing off. I couldn't quite work out if Ella intended for the high notes to sound like that or if it was a mistake.

It sounded like a Vixen screaming in heat.

Every time. She never managed to hit the high notes. Yet week in week out, she tried to squeal something out.
Shame, she really just should have stuck to the vocal range she's capable of because she has a lovely tone to her voice.
Moreso, people should have made a point of telling her where she was going wrong.
Nicole hinted it at it subtly a couple of time but she was always given such high praise and I've no idea why they'd not coach her properly.

I blamed the fact that she pretty much knew she was going home for the slightly croaky high notes.

I think she's a fabulous singer.

I agree, she did get a couple of comments about the key being too high for her, think Gary Sid it once as well a Nicole. As another said, it was. Shame as I did enjoy her tone when within range.

Lovely tone as mentioned but why not stick to the melody .
