It seems incredible now that someone like Amelia got to the top 3 and Little Mix won, seems like a lifetime ago as the show seems a million miles away from last year.

I suppose Louise set the example and knew this with the female duo act not going through and two boybands being pushed through.

This year female acts were removed in the early weeks and can see most female acts being cleared out by half-way if we get a 2013 series

Last year 4 out of 5 of the final 5 were females, I don't think it's anything to do with gender, just who people are liking that year.

It's pretty much always been that way. Only 22% of the contestants who made it all the way to the final 3 have been female.

The only difference this year is that the producers were just as keen to get rid of them. All of the male acts this year were saved in the bottom 2 at least once (apart from Chris and Jahmene who haven't been there yet). The girls were all booted the moment they ended up there. Seems the producers want only male acts.

Bit stupid on their part, are they totally ignoring the success of past male contestants?

Yes but the voters don't think of these things when voting, say Jahmene wins the voters will have forgotten about him by after Xmas. There will be a new reality show and someone else to get behind. Thats the way it has always beeen

If you look at all the male winners XF have had, where are they now? where's the female winners are still selling singles/albums, and even the female acts who didn't win are doing better then the men (a part from 1 direact).
