I apologise if this has been asked before, when the judges are choosing who to keep in Tess says if there is a tie Len has the final decision.I fail to see how there can be a tie

If all 4 judges's choices are split between the 2 couples - so say this week Craig & Bruno had chosen to save Nicky, and Darcey & Len had chosen to save Richard - then that would produce a tie, and the breaker would be that the couple Len had chosen would be the one that stays.

Len said he preferred Sid to Colin in week 3 and the other three chose Colin. |

There are 4 judges, so the vote could be split with 2 for each couple. In such a case Tess would ask Len to choose who goes, so if needed he effectively has two votes.

Len doesn't have two votes. Say Craig and Darcey save couple A and Bruno saves couple B. If Len goes for couple B, then couple B are safe.
Just like away goals, his vote counts double in the event of a tie. If there is no tie (i.e.3-0) before Len, then an extra vote by Len will not help so he doesn't even vote. So if it is 2-1 then the other votes are irrelevant and Len makes the decision. |

![]() Between three judges, or five judges, fair enough, but four? |

How can you fail to see how there could be a tie between four judges?
