Actually, I'd say it's another thread ruined by people being offended by other people's opinions and then being forced to justify their right to give their opinion without being accused of 'steve bashing'.

I guess the problem is that some of the threads on here have been quite 'argumentative' (to use a nice word!) and that, naturally, people have become defensive.... I mean even the 'lets be nice to each other' threads have degenerated into the same old arguments.

Anyway, that is just my opinion and I don't expect (any)everyone to agree. But I do think it's unfair to pick on ShowbizgosQueen, because, whatever she might have said on previous threads (I haven't seen them, so I don't know) I can't see how she's been unfair on this one.

Only caught some of the interview but Simon and Steve seemed to be enjoying themselves. Steve came across very well and considering he has only just been thrust into the limelight a few days ago he seems to be enjoying it all.

Well, hardly hook line & sinker - I can be a lot more passionate about defending Mr Young than that Blame Simon Cowell!

But point taken - no, it's not nice when someone doesn't like your favourite - I suppose it can be perceived as an attack on your own taste - as I said, I thought my comments about Steve have been quite tame really - but judging by the mood that seems to be going on in this forum at the moment, I can certainly see how they could have inflamed an already volatile situation - however, I will not apologise for having an opinion

Thanks - I can understand why people feel the need to defend Steve because I'm SO glad I wasn't on here when the first Pop Idol was on - I think I may have ended up chucking my monitor out of the window in temper with Gareth Gates fans - then my boyfriend would have been very angry with me as well lol

well, obviously were going to stick up the guy(s) we support, its only natural. i still find it hard to understand why people think he is a fake, and why people feel the need to have a go at him al the time. fair enough, by all means state your opinion, but some people are just plain harsh for the sake of it.
