Have you ordered yours? What meat are you having and where from?

I'm ordering mine from sainsburys tomorrow. A boneless norfolk black crown, with chestnut, bacon and thyme stuffing. Serves 6 and it's £30.

I normally get a boneless butterfly breast from my local butcher, I tell him how many people it's for and he works out the weight for me. Really tender and easy to cook, hardly any waste. I'd like to cook a whole bird one year( just so I can say I have) but don't have the fridge space for the leftovers.

Good job it's not our butchers that only takes orders in advance.
One year we got a Duchy Organic Turkey Crown reduced at Sainsbury's, it was lovely but every year since i've looked for it but they don't stock it anymore.

I'm ordering mine next week from my fabulous butcher - locally reared organic turkey crown and I think a smallish ham. We're also ordering a huge fore rib of beef for New Year.

Lovely! I love roast goose! I was contemplating one for this year, but remembered what a faff it was to cook, with all the fat pouring off it. Maybe next year...

I've literally just ordered a big rib of beef from our fab butchers. I cooked goose last year and love it but fancy a change this year.

We ordered our turkey from the butchers last week. It comes from this place http://herbfedpoultry.co.uk/

It will be a minimum of 19lb! We had one last year and it was the best turkey I've ever tasted. We also have leg of pork.

That's what I used to do, though there's only me to feed this Xmas so maybe a can of Spam decorated with tinsel.

Nah I'll still see what is reduced on Xmas Eve - I can slice up and freeze any leftovers.

I think I'm just gonna get two free range chickens and a bit of gammon. So nothing needs to be ordered really.

Funnily enough it's the opposite for me. The real flavour is in the dark meat so I've always avoided the 'crown' route but now money is getting tighter and there's only 2 of us I might give it a go this year. I will miss the 'oysters' though, cooks privilege!

Turkey from a local farm.

I've already chosen it - and named it Tina.

Was going to have a goose like in 2009, but I'm off the idea now since it's become a middle-class obsession "Daaaahling, you simply muuuhst have a goose this year".

Oh fop off! We used to have one way before Nigella told you to.
