Olly Murs: "I don't suppose I'll be doing Xtra Factor next year"
"I don't suppose I'll be doing Xtra Factor next year, but you never know. Next year is going to be all about music for me and selling the album. I think this record has more singles on it than any of my previous ones, so fingers crossed we can put lots out and they do well."

He must think it's making him less credible as a singer. Maybe they'll get that bloke out of Westlife to cover again.

He might be thinking that after this year's car-crash version of the X Factor there will be some wholesale changes in the format

He said this last year and came back. Maybe it's for real now as they're trying to launch him in America with this album.

Well considering Olly is one of the more positive aspects of the show it would be foolish to change him for that reason.

The Xtra Factor is really over-indulgent when it comes to Olly and the whole Caroline-and-Ollie-Love-each-other stuff. The last few weeks now they have been mentioning Olly's singles repeatedly, and most of this series they have been going on about Olly being away, and 're-uniting' with Caroline etc etc etc. NO-ONE CARES! Olly is C list is no-one gives a toss about your so-called relationship with Caroline Flack!

Olly & Caroline are great on Xtra Factor. Cowell has tried and failed twice to find a presenting partnership for X Factor USA but they actually got it right here. I highly doubt either of them would be dropped. In fact, in the case of a major shake-up I could see them being promoted. And if Olly leaves, maybe just Caroline going onto the main show with Dermot (I could actually see them being quite good too).
God knows what they'd do next! They'll be running out of presenters soon. Ben Shepherd wouldn't come back - he wanted the main job when Kate left and Simon didn't ever seem to seriously consider him so he left. Fearne seemed to think she was above it all and Simon allegedly hated her so she went to "pursue opportunities in the US" the next year. Holly was good but she was too good and eventually moved on to bigger projects. Konnie was too awful and only lasted a year. It's quite a turnover on that show! And that's ignoring Terri Seymour who had some kind of co-host role on the first series before Simon got her a job on Extra in the US. Compare all that to Britain's Got More Talent where Stephen Mulhern seems to have perfected the art of being good enough to keep his job but not so good that the offers are flooding in. |

I wouldn't be surprised if she did move up to the main show, and Emma Willis seems to be in favour at ITV at the minute so would be the obvious choice to take over Xtra Factor. There were rumours a while back that they wanted a male/female duo to host the main show, expecting Olly & Caroline to do it. |

Olly and Caroline are easily the best presenters Xtra Factor have had, so they best not be replaced. She's more than capable of going it alone though if he did leave, although it would be less funny than it is now.
They best not replace Dermot though...and I hope he doesn't leave, although I'm starting to get a feeling that one of these may happen! For me Dermot remains one of the best parts of the show, it wouldn't be the same without him, just as it wouldn't be the same without Louis. |
