Never heard of special fish or ever seen breadcrumbed fish in a local chippy.

Batter all the way

Battered definitely, I didn't know you could get breaded fish in chip shops, not proper ones anyway!

I've had some in Telford, they were ok but nothing special.

When you ate your first chip what sort of expression did you make?

I don't remember what expression, it was a quick grab something to eat at lunchtime.

I wouldn't go out of my way to have them again, but wouldn't avoid them either. Just nothing special, didn't really taste of much, I guess the batter keeps the oil out of the potato. Was expecting something magical the way some on here have raved over them.

This, If I'm having Fish Fingers or Scampi, Breaded is preferred, but Proper Fish shop fish, has to be Battered.

In the case of Asda haddock fish fingers it's 100% Haddock fillet in breadcrumbs.

From the chippy, batter.
But prefer a nice piece of home shallow fried haddock in breadcrumbs
