It was reported on BBC Breakfast as well and they should know.

The Sun lists 8 past celebrities but 1 newcomer. Add in Fabrice and, assuming The Sun's story is true that's 10 celebs in total, in which case it has to be a 90 minute special, surely.
Or past celebrities are involve in a group dance only?

Combined 8.9m for the two showings of Celeb.

Recovery from Thursday, but below average for this run.
You sure, I'm sure this time last year IAC was pulling in 8.5 million. Yet this is one of the older shows that continues to surprise: five years ago it seemed to be in decline, but has added an extra two million viewers since. I can honestly see IAC outliving TXF and DOI.

Morning ratings:

BBC One
09:15 - Neighbourhood Watched: 1.33m (25.7%)
10:00 - Homes Under the Hammer: 1.23m (23.2%)
11:00 - Watchdog Daily: 1.02m (20.5%)
11:45 - Cash in the Attic: 920k (18.3%)
12:15 - Bargain Hunt: 1.75m (28.7%)
13:00 - BBC News at One: 2.46m (35.8%)

ITV1
09:25 - The Jeremy Kyle Show: 1.33m (25.4%)
10:30 - This Morning: 1.03m (20.1%)
11:25 - ITV News: 1.02m (20.4%)
11:30 - This Morning: 1.03m (20.0%)
12:30 - Loose Women: 865k (13.2%)
13:30 - ITV News: 844k (12.4%)

A lot closer between ITV1 and BBC One than what I have seen as of late, until Loose Women drops ITV's ratings off a cliff.

Between 09:25 and 12:30, BBC One averaged 1.15m (22.1%), compared with 1.10m (21.2%) for ITV1.
Homes Under the Hammer and Cash in the Attic are on repeats.

Everything on ITV1 was new.

Not good enough for EastEnders considering they had a crash
Which of course the BBC havent trailed. I was hoping they would advertise Mondays ep which looks very dramatic and they have the Huge explosion but of course they havent. Good cliffhanger last night tho and EastEnders seemed to have 5 trends at 8:30 and 1 at 2:00am so its got people talking.

Eastenders shouldnt have to be trailed by the BBC themselves to get bigger ratings. If the show has big storylines like a car crash, the media normally publicise this and people find out through magazines and newspapers before the episode is shown. But it seems like the media support Eastenders has had in the past isnt there anymore so when these big annual fire/car crash stunts are done now, hardly any more people than usual watch it. A big episode like yesterdays should be more than just 0.3m higher than boring old Emmerdale Farm.

I don't watch EastEnders but knew there was a crash, i would imagine people with even a fleeting interest would have known

Do people realise that though? I mean not everyone watches morning TV on a daily basis.

Haven't both Pointless and Weakest Link shown that slotting in repeats has no or little effect on viewing figures?

I expect a lot of TV viewing of default channels like BBC One and ITV 1 is pretty passive.

Plenty of publicity for the crash in TV mags and tabloids

Isn't that pretty much always the case though - generally out of the five programmes usually shown from 9.15am-1pm only 2-3 seem to be new episodes most weeks - indeed at the moment only Watchdog Daily is showing new episodes. It's a bit better in the afternoon with Doctors, Escape to the Country and Pointless being new - but everything except Flog It on BBC2 is a repeat. Somebody really should notify the Daily Mail.

I think repeating Homes Under The Hammer must be dirt cheap for the cash strapped BBC. Also ratings suggest these shows do as well as ITV's morning shows.

RIP Larry Hagman.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/...s-aged-81.html

As this is the Ratings thread I'll add this comment from the DS article:
Dallas was renewed for a second season by TNT in June, but it is not yet known what effect Hagman's death will have on the programme.

The controller of BBC Entertainment Mark Linsey confirmed the Christmas special was 90 minutes on Points of View a few weeks ago. Where he also confirmed the return of Superstars.

The BBC news website has picked up the Fabrice story. They managed to get in a nice dig about Dancing on Ice

The former Bolton Wanderers midfielder will be one of several celebrity guests to be announced in the next few days.

The announcement comes weeks after he told an interviewer he had turned down ITV's Dancing On Ice, but would be "well up for" Strictly.

Muamba, 24, has had to give up football since his near-death experience.

He collapsed in front of 35,000 fans during an FA Cup match against Tottenham at White Hart Lane on 17 March.

His heart stopped for 78 minutes but he was resuscitated after repeated shocks from a defibrillator.
The 24-year-old former footballer will dance with Aliona Vilani who made an early exit from this year's competition because of a damaged ankle. Her partner Johnny Ball was voted out during her absence.

RIP indeed. It feels like only yesterday he was laughing and joking whilst promoting Dallas over here in the UK.

Terribly sad.

Always an excuse, on first showings between Monday - Thursday it dropped nearly a million, again a so called big storyline fails to engage with the viewer and this time there is no point saying its Kirkwoods fault.

There is no sign of an end to the mess and viewers have picked up on it, hell I'd even says EE's poor performance is affecting the shows immediately on afterwards, Holby City is down, teen Apprentice down.

I'm sure there was speculation on either this thread or the POV one that Mr Linsey didn't know what he was talking about; that there wouldn't be room for a 90 minute Strictly in the Xmas Day schedule.

Perhaps the longer slot is compensation for it losing its Xmas Day slot to Call The Midwife.

As for Fabrice, I imagine he has to avoid over-exertion. A week or two working on the Strictly special much better than a whole series of DOI.

Continuing with Daybreak, looking at rzt's post containing the majority of September through to November ratings for Daybreak: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...postcount=3419

Never once did it go above 800k, or hit 20% rounded share. In fact, looking at the week as a whole:

19/11 - 712k (17.5%)
20/11 - 741k (18.3%)
21/11 - 719k (17.6%)
22/11 - 728k (18.2%)
23/11 - 805k (19.9%)

I'm sure DS posters know more about planned BBC show lengths than the head of BBC entertainment commissioning I actually think I might have been one of the posters

It would fit in btw.
Spoiler

Different presenters?
No it was Lorraine (yes on a Friday) & Aled, they had the interview with Brian Conley.

There was an interview with Brian Conley yesterday. It was an exclusive on why he left the jungle. Lorraine presented.

Disappointing rating for the One show exclusive with the Rolling Stones.
