DOND slipping behind now. My family, who've watched it since the start, now think it's on its last legs and the rupee stunt was really scraping the barrel.
TM hovering around the million mark, even though it's Schofield's day off. I wonder if the fallout from the interview with the PM is harming the show now. |

What are the predictions for XF this weekend?
Considering it's the quarter finals, and looking at the weather , I can't see it going below 8m, but it could near 9m, and near 10m for the results. Exact predictions are:Performance show - 8.7m and 9.8m peak Results show - 9.7m and 11.8m peak. |

Wouldn't BBC One be better to put their no.1 show, SCD out at 9pm against Downton on Xmas Day ? People stay up later on Xmas Day, so it doesn't really matter it's so late.
Something like : 18:00 Doctor Who 19:00 Eastenders 20:00 Call the Midwife 21:00 Strictly Come Dancing 22:30 Mrs Browns Boys |

Always an excuse, on first showings between Monday - Thursday it dropped nearly a million, again a so called big storyline fails to engage with the viewer and this time there is no point saying its Kirkwoods fault.
There is no sign of an end to the mess and viewers have picked up on it, hell I'd even says EE's poor performance is affecting the shows immediately on afterwards, Holby City is down, teen Apprentice down. Mon-Fri EE dropped around 700k across the full week. Corrie dropped by the same amount between just two episodes - Monday's and Wednesdays. EE didn't drop at all between Thursday and Friday (7.3m) and the drop between Monday (8m) and Tuesday (7.7m) and Tuesday and Thursday was minimal. EE's drop across the week is staggered 8m - 7.7m - 7.3m and perfectly normal. Other soaps drop far more sharply yet I don't see you commenting on this. Clearly the storyline must have interested those who tuned in for the drops to be so minimal with no drop at all between Thursday and Friday. Last night's figure was 500k up on the show's last Friday episode and to draw even with Thursday and stay respectfully within the 7m range is good for EE on a Friday night, traditionally its weakest night. Nobody has ever claimed there's no drop-off for EE across the week it happens for all soaps, all anyone has ever said to you is that it is perfectly normal and not a case of the show hemorrhaging viewers as you would have us believe. |

In response to Lousiana's point about soaps, for all the soaps are until 9.00 on Fridays as well, this is the night when many people go out and ratings are lower. Also on Mondays, which has been soap night since 1960 when CSt first appeared, the pubs are often closed, no one has much inclination to go out anyway in winter and this is where the soaps do the best.
Also Mondays has always been ITV's strongest night and if BBC One didn't start showing EE on Mondays 18 years ago, they'd have been sunk totally as ITV would have something strong in the 8.00 slot( traditionally a sitcom). |

Only Homeland seems to be holding its own, but at least a third of its viewers aren't even watching the ads that pay for the show! |

The choice at 9pm will be BBC1 or ITV1. The floating viewer has to decide between 3 shows or Downton. Add in the fact Downton will be littered with ads too then I would expect people to stick with BBC1 and catch up with Downton if interested. Before 9pm, timings could be altered but I'd stick with that generally, not sure I would have put Miranda in but C.M.W. says its being shown on the day. |

You don't half talk some rubbish.
In the last eight weeks on first showings EE has only broken 8 million twice, it's November and a few days from darkest December and it should be improving ratings wise but its not. |

I've got some consolidated figures from last Friday (Children in Need night):
Pointless Celebrities - 3.07m (18.4%), peaking with 4.48m (24.7%) in the last five minutes The One Show - 4.99m (21.9%) Children in Need (19:30-22:00) - 8.22m (31%), peaking with 10.07m (40.1%) at 20:05 Children in Need (22:00-22:40) - 3.81m (16.7%) Children in Need (22:40-02:00) - 3.22m (33.9%), only 792k (30.4%) were watching in the last five minutes. |

I really, really hope BBC One's Christmas Day lineup goes something like this
15:00 The Queen 15:10 Film: Up 16:45 BBC News 17:00 Room on the Broom 17:30 Strictly Come Dancing 19:00 Doctor Who 20:00 EastEnders 20:30 Miranda 21:00 EastEnders 21:30 The Royle Family 22:30 Mrs Brown’s Boys 23:00 BBC News It would be insane for them to put Call the Midwife on Christmas Day, it has Boxing Day written all over it. |

Bet it didn't.
Was watching Sir David last night on BBC2 so was planning to catch the extended edition on Monday. May not bother now. It was hosting by Sir Roger Moore, wasn't it? I'm afraid old age has caught up with him big time. This programme was what the expression "meh" was invented for. Simple fact is the central character is just too ordinary. Successful comedy characters need to be larger-than-life. Let Miranda and Mrs Brown's Boys show the M&MJ writers how to do it. Probably right, though I did not think it was as bad as 1.72 million and beaten by Bargain Hunt bad. It was warm hearted and actually funny in parts imo but without the captive audience of yesteryear ideas have to work very hard to gain a footing with an audience which has a million other things that might be better to do these days. |

Just in case anyone's interested, ITV1's top 10 this year looks like this: (figures include HD and +1)
1 - (19/06) UEFA Euro 2012 - England vs Ukraine: 16.31m (57.3%), *peak: 18.69m (60.9%) 2 - (12/05) Britain's Got Talent Final: 13.12m (48.8%), *peak: 15.67m (54.8%) 3 - (11/06) UEFA Euro 2012 - England vs France: 12.64m (57%), *peak: 15.38m (59.9%) 4 - (23/01) Coronation Street: 12.51m (45%) 5 - (14/04) Britain's Got Talent: 12.18m (43.7%), *peak: 13.98m (51.3%) 6 - (31/03) Britain's Got Talent: 12.17m (44.4%), *peak: 13.77m (50.6%) 7 - (04/11) Downton Abbey: 12.15m (40.6%) 8 - (23/09) Downton Abbey: 12.08m (39.8%) 9 - (21/10) Downton Abbey: |

Do I really, you need to grow up and accept that I have every right to air my opinion, Jesus just accept people are going to criticise EE and its poor ratings, a big so called storyline and still lagging way behind Corrie and only just ahead of Emmerdale. If you feel that's acceptable then fine but don't eat a cow when others talk about it.

Homes Under the Hammer and Cash in the Attic are on repeats.
Everything on ITV1 was new. Quote:
I think repeating Homes Under The Hammer must be dirt cheap for the cash strapped BBC. Also ratings suggest these shows do as well as ITV's morning shows.

Continuing with Daybreak, looking at rzt's post containing the majority of September through to November ratings for Daybreak: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...postcount=3419
Never once did it go above 800k, or hit 20% rounded share. In fact, looking at the week as a whole: 19/11 - 712k (17.5%) 20/11 - 741k (18.3%) 21/11 - 719k (17.6%) 22/11 - 728k (18.2%) 23/11 - 805k (19.9%) Different presenters? ITV's only chance now of regaining ground at breakfast is for the BBC to make some unpopular changes - but that's not going to happen anytime soon and the two main presenting teams are as popular as each other with viewers. |
