Serious question: what do we think is gonna happen to the deli when Stug decide to leave? Are they just gonna... abandon it? We know they don't sell it 'cause Kieron was working in the deli outfit the other week, so...? Are they gonna leave it to Cheryl?

I'd say they decide to sell it but since the decision to move to America and actually go happens so quick, there's probably no time to find a buyer, so when Ste decides to stay he takes it off the market?

They make Stug seem so money driven, First scamming Brendan, then attempting to scam Doug's family, now they're willing to drop everything and move to America for the MONEY.

When your life is non-stop gentle sex and tears, you'd have to find your happiness from somewhere.

LOL, exactly. I still don't understand why they just don't sell the deli and go working someplace else if they're always skint all the damn time.

At the start of the Deli stuff I really thought that Ste would be this successful business man not in a massive way just that he could afford nicer things. Maybe he'd get a car for he, Amy and the kids & possibly move from the Slum etc. And see him in a suit once in a while

And they can't be skint! Their prices are extortion and they basically got the place set up for free!

Did the mag say they had money problems again?

I think he and Amy would still need to pass their driving test first.

I'd say lots of "kitchen sink" drama - family units and things, all good in my book. Basically good solid drama. His comedy stuff seemed to be a bit too much for me personally. Seemed to rely less on OMG drama but straight forward storytelling. Less kiddie than the show was before, more focus on older characters. He seemed to be good at picking actors who are underused and used in comedy plots and give them a serious and more starring role.

And can afford staff because they're not in there every day.

I'd say it's quite the successful business apart from the break-in they had.

Agree with this.

I think you can feel his presence already with characters like Nana arriving and people like Martha/Myra getting more to do.

And how despite the teens still being present, the focus has moved back onto families and characters in their 20s and 30s.

Definitely.

And another thing is that I always thought he was very honest in interviews and things about mistakes that were made or things that were less successful.

Who actually did that break-in?

Yes, like him basically saying that they needed to try and get back the older audience the show had alienated.

He doesn't bullshit much. I didn't always agree with him but I can't criticize how he comes across in interviews. It's very refreshing.

I guess it depends on how they're gonna break up.
If they end things on a sour note then I really can't see Doug coming back to the village still wanting to work there (unless he's forced to because no one else is hiring).
If the break-up is mutual and somehow "civil", then I reckon' he'll still be working there.
Personally, I think that the best option would be sacking Doug and hiring someone else - Barney, or anyone else - to give Ste someone else to interact with. But who knows

The break-in that consisted in a few objects scattered on the floor?

Yeah I suppose so but if they break up civially how is doug going to feel/react to the fact that ste and brendan are going to be together when he comes back can you just imagine the snot monster working in the deli and brendan coming in to see ste that could be interesting

I think they're not so much skint as greedy and unscrupulous.

I think that was the whole point of what Doug did so he and Ste could go back to when they were "happiest" decorating the Deli I mean how ridiculous it seems like they always have to something to fix their stupid relationship. Decorate the deli again, get married, move away etc.
