See, I disagree with this theory they changed their minds because the friendship was popular. The friendship was always to sucker us in, in my view. They wanted to avoid another Noah. So they developed this really believable lovely friendship to soften everyone up and go aww, aren't they good together, and then have them fall in lurve, and we'd all go awww again. And instead, everyone just went FFS, they just wrecked a great friendship. Idiots.
