Alcoholism would be very believable, considering Ste's history.

I think so too. He probably grew up in that kind of household.

Kieron would get to shine and it's a way to give Ste some good material without regressing him.

When Brendan goes...I really need to see Ste totally hate everyone and not want anyone near him for a very long time....I know that's bad...but I need Ste to find it really hard to live without Brendan.....

I want to see him go on a rampage.. Smashing windows, drinking, spinning Ruby around by her hair and sending her flying to Wales. Proper mental! Before breaking down in tears.

I want Brendan's death (if he even dies yet, we don't know) to completely destroy Ste. It's sadistic of me, but it's that kind of story and I can't see it being done any other way.

Yes. It was mentioned again when she returned, and Doug gave her the wine. I think that's partly why I'd find it very realistic. It's what Ste's grown up with.

I seem to remember Louise having issues with alcohol. But maybe I'm misremembering.

They should make good use of that history he has really. It's a mine of story.

Oh she did you're right. I'm not sure they ever did anything with it but she was definitely shown as drinking too much.

Call me an old romanticist, but if Brendan dies/gets killed, I will refuse to believe it and make up my own ending. But that's me, I get kinda attached to my fave characters, like years after they have been cancelled (SGA) I still love them! Oh and still love SGA and SPN, and some of the deaths in those didn't happen either. Nope, erased and re-written you see? *points to head*

Was Josh an alcoholic too? That was around the time I stopped watching, so I'm possibly thinking of someone else.

As long as we get aftermath for Ste, I don't care if it's drinking or drugs or depression or whatever. The worst thing would be if it's barely referred to, as with a lot of soap deaths.

People complained that Lynsey's death was just a plot device for Stendan, but I think her death has had more aftermath than most characters get. People grieved for her, and changed because of her. Brendan's death should have at least that impact on Ste.

According to Wikipedia, he was sent to AA but it was because Rhys spiked his drink.

I think Lynsey's death has had one of the biggest aftermaths certainly in Hollyoaks terms. They even remembered to give her an onscreen funeral months and months after she died when most people assumed it would be offscreen.

I'm hopeful that they'll do it justice, if only because Brendan's such a massive character. But we shall see.

Stargate Atlantis is my one forever love!! Most of my art and fanfic has been for SGA! And Supernatural is SPN! I have met very nearly all of the actors from both shows. I would give an arm to meet some from Hollyoaks LOL!

Emmett's passed 125,000 followers on Twitter. Last time I checked it was less than 122,000, and I'm sure that was only three or four days ago. I know he had that big influx of followers throughout Later, but he's now getting more and more when there's nothing actually happening.

I reckon it's the Dublin effect.
