What would you get him to sing?

He can definitely sing, but he needs bringing into the 21st century.

Something by Coldplay? Or is that too miserable?

I'd give him Who You Are by Jessie J, The Silence by Alexandra Burke.

if i wanted him to win I'd carry on as he's going - maybe some sort of big 80s ballad about being accepted for who you are etc.

if I wanted to ruin him I'd have him sing fire starter by the prodigy and dedicate it to his nan.

Definitely something modern. A big number one hit post 2005 at least! And a makeover.

That's a fantastic song choice.

Stop Crying Your Heart Out - Leona's version, don't think the Oasis version would suit him.

I wouldn't be mentoring him because I'd have never chosen him in the first place for the wildcard. Nicola & Brad were both much better.

I'd give him songs which were actually released this century. I'd show how he could be current in today's music world. Barlow just isn't showing that by giving him 80s power ballads.

Vienna by Ultravox.

Chris could be really good as a stage presence with a bit more confidence. If his confidence rose the cheesiness would fall.

I wouldn't want to mentor Christopher Maloney, he wouldn't have been my choices or my wildcard.

Not even worth adding sensible thoughts here.

I also like the Chariots of fire suggestion.

I agree. I'd give him more age appropriate songs as well. he's in his 30's yet the songs are as old as he is.
