there is a spoiler in week 50 press office ones that derek finds out about sharons secret. if he found out that phil covered up heathers murder nothing would stop derek going to the police about that. unless he finds out just before he dies leading phil to be a suspect

I thought the secret would be the fake engagement, but I forgot that Derek already knows that, doesn't he? I'm trying to think who else it could be, might be Patrick, but to be honest I couldn't give a sh*t. It's just not an interesting story.

i was hoping shirleys return could make it better but it doesnt look like it from the spoilers. i wish she didnt know they were fake.

i want shirley to tell jack about phils involvement in heathers death & team up together. that would be awesome but i dont have faith in the writers to come up with something good for shirley

I don't either. I don't want Shirley or Janine to go back, if they're going to end up being sidelined in favour of the Brannings, or just plain ruined.

exactly. no imagination whatsoever. even i can come up with better. its so frustrating. they focus too much on one family at one time and never develop any outside characters. they sacrifice good characters for others when theres no need to they just cant write any better

Yes, Jamie was right its the same thing all the time, no developement of characters.

Shirley return looks crap, the writers had the opportunity to bring her back refreshed and to move on from the Mitchells, instead it just seems she going to be bitter and jealous. I've gone off Shirley, its a shame because Linda a fantastic actress who can handle her own SL and doesnt need to be tied down to the Mitchells.

I hope 2013, the writing improves and SL are shared out equally beween characters

i dont think she is jealous she has nothing to be jealous off. she's annoyed ben has only got 4 years and jay isnt in prison. its only fair seeing as it was her best friend

She lost that right when she decided to save Phil instead of getting justice.
From what I read all she seems to be doing is revealinf Phils secret its a shame she didnt feel the need to do this months back.
To me it looks bitter and jealous and the writers have wasted the opportunity to refresh the character they seem to think she can only work being tied down to the Mitchells.

she's annoyed about ben getting 4 years. thats what i've read. there is no sign of her being jealous about phil/sharon. its not even about them. she knows their engagement is fake. if she was gonna be jealous it would be better if she thought they were real.

i want her to make phils life hell give them some kind of closure and then have her move on.

BIB - my feelings exactly. Instead of reporting Phil's involvement to the police, she first tried to hide incriminating evidence, then tried booze to worm her way back into his life, finally settling for a pay-off for a couple of hundred quid. Taking that money was her lowest point in my estimation. Poor Heather - a fine best friend Shirley turned out to be.

I rather wish she wasn't coming back at all - especially if we are goiing to be treated to a desperate display of Shirley trying to get Phil back by fair means or foul. The Doormat Returns.

How will she be a doormat if she gets revenge on phil i dont understand it if she didnt get revenge or make him squirm she would still be considered one
