Went onto Marks and Spencer website and they no longer sell technology products!
I brought my I Pod classic from them a few years back and they used to offer an excellent after sales guarantee if anything went wrong. I think it was something 3 years and they would replace the model if it broke down. Luckily, nothing has gone wrong but I have just visited their website and they have announced they will no longer sell technology:
http://www.marksandspencer.com/Techn...arch_Technolgy I am sorry if I have already missed a thread on this topic, but I was wondering if anyone knows why? |

Yes. I was surprised to learn that a week or two ago. My uneducated guess it economics. That division of the business was not flourishing.

Unsurprisingly there's little or no profit selling electronics unless you're Amazon it seems..... there's been little profit selling TV's in the last 15 years or so and the advent of the internet just made it worse for retailers..... probably also indicates why Panasonic and Sony shares are classed as junk....
http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...8AL07B20121122 Who would have thought selling cheaper and cheaper products equates to making less and less profit, or more accuralely made a loss! |

Is that because of the lack of tax they pay in this country?

I tried to buy my TV from M&S 2 years ago - a 42" Panasonic G10 with a free Blu-Ray player. They delivered the Blu-Ray but failed on 3 occasions to deliver the TV so I got a full refund and bought a G15 from Richer Sounds. Thanks for the Blu-Ray player though M&S
