I don't think any of Victoria's dances have been train wrecks.

You took the words out of my mouth.
If people like throwing their money at a loser then I say fill yer boots.
She looks bad enough at present dancing against the fabby dancers & the less good ones.....but putting her through to make her a laughing stock dancing against the cream of the crop only is cruel IMHO. But it will give me a laugh so go for it.

Her first dance was - but I put that down to nerves more than anything.

And I can't wait to see her tangly arms .
I'm fore-seeing strangulation & tears.
Best give her a floaty scarf so she has something to blame......and use to mop her tears.

Come on Terry those 3 dances have been terrible

Cha Cha Cha - She messed up and I felt sorry for her (Still supporting her at this point but it was awful)
Samba - Went completely off her. Worst Samba possibly ever IMO Even Ann Widdecombes was more fluid than hers.
Paso - Textless
Salsa - *shudders at the thought*

She's very pretty though. Maybe that helps ?

Why would anyone need the dance police to tell them who they should or shouldn’t want to do well.

Don't blame Victoria if people want to vote for her . She is doing her best week after week . Victoria said before she entered that she couldn't dance and was on a hiding to nothing, so I believe she should be admired for entering SCD and 'having a go' in Len's immortal phrase.

If I was victoria and came on this forum and read some people's comments I'd be mortified ... Some people are so cruel and downright nasty things they say about the girl...

I'm a bit surprised that her public vote appears to be holding up so well.

Every couple of weeks or so an article appears in the Daily Mail (yes, I know...) in which she bewails that fact that everything is so difficult for her, that she has never been so unfit in her life, her legs now look awful etc. etc. etc. She even had a strop last week about not being called safe first in the Results Show ! (I guess few of the voting public are DM readers.)

I started out wanting her to do well, because she's an Olympic champion, which is a terrific achievement, but my goodwill is exhausted.

In fairness, all the contestants get negative things said about them on here. That's par for the course, not just with Strictly, but with any competative TV show.

Yes and the irony is she has been called first - in week six, she's been called second as well. Lisa & Michael are the only contestants still remaining never to be called first, Richard was another.
Victoria likes everyone to pity her - when they're not admiring her. I'm pitying Mr Cole which is a unique position for me I can tell you
The Daily Mail get most of their info from her Radio Times column. I've had to temporarily stop buying it because it's the sort of magazine you flick and I can't avoid constantly reading her headline whinge 'I'm not in control - I feel vulnerable' sort of garbage. It's like accidentally flicking on to Jeremy Kyle when you're doing a channel search - you get off as quick as you can but the damage has been done

I think her public support holds up well because this is the Olympic year and she figured so well in it. Plus they see her on ITT along with thirty secs of training footage and it all looks like fun, fun, fun. Look at Brendan though if you want the true story and read her articles - the fun drains away.

I think her world is very small due to arrested development - as is so often the case with over protected, hot-housed children. It does become all about them and they never really see much further than 'me,me,me'.

If she had not been an Olympic athlete who won a medal she'd have been gone within the first two weeks.

Well she's very pretty to look at (when she's not dancing ) and that's always appealing, but yes, if she had appeared three of four years hence and been as dismal then I don't think she would have got this far. Not that she's the worst but twice now I think she has been the worst or jointly the worst. There was no real excuse for that samba was there? - it lacked lustre - it lacked everything. Everybody left now gives a better performance than she does and they are all happy to be there too, or if they're not, they're not wearying us with it.

I'm not going to blame Victoria for people voting for her because it's up to them who they vote for - although as sofakat has just pointed out I doubt if she'd get the votes if she didn't have the Olympian medal status............but sorry I'm not going to admire her just for entering SCD and 'having a go' - she's being paid a high fee for doing the show and she's getting bundles of publicity out of it too - so it's hardly a selfless act to do SCD. Her best is just not good enough imo - she's reached over half way and she still can't dance. I prefer Michael who like Victoria started the show unable to dance - he does try his best, he might not be a brilliant dancer but at least you can see a vast improvment in him and he is worth watching.

Supposition only, there’s no way of knowing. All the contestants have to have celebrity status of some kind or they would not be appearing on the show.

Victoria will still be an Olympic gold medalist several times over, now retired afterwards just as she was before. When SCD is over and finished they will all be whatever they were before it started

no, for me she wont , I really liked and admired her and thought she must be a real role model for young girls

I still like her but her persona has grated a lot at times and now dont see her as a potential role model and I find that really sad.

She needs to stop relying on others to prop her up mentally off the velodrome I think she did this show to quickly after the olympics

I'd like to think so but I doubt it . Entering any reality show has consequences for all the celebs whether for good or bad. I think entering SCD may have tarnished her image in some peoples eyes, not mine I like her more.

I like the fact that Victoria has come from practically no dance experience and although she isn't brilliant she hasn't embarrassed herself and done some really nice dances. I think it's right people with less experience are given the time to develop and improve otherwise it would just be a show of stage school graduates and that wouldn't be as interesting to me.

Saying that I do think she may be coming to the end of her time, unless she can pull an amazing dance out the bag on Saturday. I could possibly see her having one or two weeks left but she could surprise everyone.
