Would you like to see EE cast Ava's Father?

No.

He was a sailor, so was possibly only in London while his ship was here. He probably sailed away with no knowledge at all that he had fathered a child.

NO. Enough random family members popping up, I want a new family. Certainly not another extension of Cora's family or the Brannings.

He needn't be a full-time cast member, but it'd be nice for him to pop up for a couple of weeks to put the Ava storyline to bed at last. Either that or have Ava look for him, only to learn that he died years ago. I'd find it strange and incredible for Ava to build a relationship with her mother, but not want to know her father. Besides, it's awful not to inform a man that he's (going to be) a father, unless your safety and life are in danger by telling him, which was not Cora's case.

I remember Cora saying that he didn't know that she was pregnant.

Therefore surely it would be a bit unrealistic for him to walk into the square now? Cora probably hasn't got a clue where he's been for the last 48/49 years!

If a actor was to come in who would you like to see play him?

No x infinity. I do NOT want yet more long-lost relatives turning up. Some things are best left in the past; not all discussions about the past have to lead to something, otherwise we might as well bring back the ghost of Den Watts.

I think he needs to come in, the extended Branning clan are seriously lacking in numbers at the moment.

Imagine its Patrick. The stupidiy... if that happens then it will be ridiculous
Fixed, and the writers would indeed be stupid to go down this route, because it is, for all intents and purposes, senseless.

Errr.... think about it. Would Cora want to be his friend after he had 'broken her heart'?

She'd have nothing at all to do with him if he was Ava's dad.

I really wish that people didn't have this silly obession that every character has to be somehow related to everyone else.

I'd have thought folks would have learned their lessons after whipping up hysteria that Ava was bound to be really Sharon ...

Completely agree, but evidently some haven't learned from that yet.

Frankly I'm surprised that there aren't hundreds of "Patrick is Ava's dad" threads yet. Imagine the tedium...

Glad you agree.

If Patrick had been Ava's dad, as soon as Cora had heard the name 'Patrick Trueman' mentioned, you wouldn't have seen her ass for dust as she scarpered from Walford to avoid meeting him.

Also, does the OP think it's likely that Patrick would have shagged a London girl with such an unusual first name as Cora, and not remembered her even uf nearly 40 years have passed?

Surely even if he hadn't realised that she was pregnant when he sailed away after his week or so shore-leave, he'd have approached her as an old acquaintance when she moved to Walford, not a complete stranger ?

It seems that some people are just desperate to create family ties which simply do not exist.

I don't get how Ava is Tanya's sister?? She's fully black, they could have at least casted a mixed race actress?! I'm just confused.
