Jack Taylor: 9pm Channel 5
Based on the books by Ken Bruen and starring Iain Glen ('Game of Thrones', 'Downton Abbey' and 'Prisoners Wives') comes this new crime drama from Ireland.
There's three standalone stories airing over the next 3 weeks. First one 'The Guards' airs at 9pm on C5.

As a big fan of Mind To Kill I’m pleased to see Five returning to this type of home-grown drama over imports or reality nonsense. I hope it’s a success for them - They can count me amongst the viewing figures.

No thanks Dancc.
Channel 5 is a toilet channel, and my evening entertainment is being better served by the BBC |

I liked it, I hope it does well for Channel 5 as it could pave the way for homegrown drama on the channel.

Did Channel 5 have any input into this show at all or is it purely an import from TV3?

Think its an import like Single Handed was for ITV although they were involved in the second series as co-producer with RTE, I imagine if Jack Taylor is successful then Channel 5 will probably come on board as a co-producer.

This fool needs to take their own advice. There is a whole world of decent tv outside the bbc, the broadcaster we have to pay to watch and get served up prime time tripe like eastenders 4 nights a week! 😡

Must have had a senior moment as I thought it was on tonight and missed it. Looking at 5 on demand it's not available.
Anyone know if it's repeated on 5usa or anywhere before next week's? (Couldn't find anything searching on radio times site) |

I mean, look at last night's output across their channels. The BBC offered a range of soaps, documentaries, politics, news and comedy. What did the C5 empire output? Dangerous Driving School, Speidel(?), and a load of US crime imports. As Richard Briers would have said: Tacky S**t! |

Each to their own I suppose, would be a boring world if we were all the same. Channel 5 is the channel I watch the most as it offers something different and I am a big fan of us crime drama and series like extraordinary people. They do show some rubbish but every single channel is guilty of that.
