P!nk - I'm Not Dead/Funhouse/The Truth About Love

I loved IND but as much as i like the next two they seem to be copying the same formula - any of the tracks on FH/TTAL could have been on I'm Not Dead
I know Try This wasn't very successful but was quite different to M!ssundaztood which in turn was totally the opposite of Can't Take Me Home. I'm Not Dead restored her former glory but I'd like a fresh sound for album #7

I kinda of agree but i am also glad. Pink could of gave us a crappy dance album, but she's sticking to the music she likes and what her fans like. Try this was way too different and didn't click at all. All three albums have been consistent sellers which more and more hits, so it's a formular that is working. I also think with these albums, she finally got the recognition and respect she now has today.

I think she's found her sound, found what she's good at, she performs it awesomely live and has absolutely no reason to change. She has a set fanbase, who love her music, sacrificing them to ride some new popular sound for an album and gain some new fans would be a bit silly I think.

It's not like her albums are just 12 tracks of monotony, the formula works because we always get a few songs based on fun, silly ideas. Some power/rocky ballad types. Some more poppy tracks and a couple of serious ones.

She could do with upping the promo though, I don't think I've even seen her perform anywhere non-award show this year.

I don't think I do agree actually. I can't imagine mixing the tracks on each album up. Each has it's own theme, and the songs work well together. I think they are all similar styles, yes, but they each sound different enough. For me, anyway.

She performd on Alan Carr - Chatty Man over. She did Ellen in the States too. One of the mornning shows over there too I think? Plus X Factor in Aus. So she's done a fair bit.

I guess you could say she's found her sound - don't get me wrong I love her the last 3 albums - but I'm Not Dead is definitely the best of the 3....but to be fair I haven't really given The Truth About Love a proper listen.
Speaking of whhic - I'm annoyed the fan edition is now coming out so shortly after the supposed deluxe edition I bought. Pisstake,

She needs to be on X Factor to be honest. Here and States.

I've obviously just missed the one show she has done, which here only gets a couple of million viewers, she deserves much more widespread promo.

That AMA performance was even more spectacular than the video, and probably even better than Glitter in the Air, she needs to somehow get it on to TV shows!

To be fair, Chatty Man is hardly much promo considering Alan only gets like 2million viewers on a good day. In saying that, I do think she'll be on X Factor possibly next week. Compared on the scale to other artists promo, P!nk hasn't done huge promo. The AMA's seem to be the biggest so far

In regards to the OP, I love IND and Funhouse, but unfortunately I'm not really keen on her new album. The latter songs do nothing for me. The only songs I actually listen to are Blow Me, Try, True Love and Walk Of Shame...

^I'm sure I read somewhere that she was doing X Factor over here, but I don't know if that was ever confirmed.

I loved her up until IND after there i grew less and less interested as her albums became a rehash of what went before with the same drab monotony and sickli power balladry that could be found on a kelly clarkson album or all those other prtenders who are just as good so TBH she's good at what she does she has her set fans who enjoy it and she has clear and consistent sales so why bother changing now.

Missundaztood is my favourite album of hers, takes me back to 2001/2 ))

My sister owns all her albums but i got my own copy of that one...something so very pure about it that i cannot find in her last three albums, while she has been very consistent and she has definitely come a long way as a performer...musically i feel she is still in this Pop/Rock void where she needs to break out from....but hey saying that...if it aint broke....

But stayng in the same box for too long isnt really my thing XD

I definitely agree that they do have the same sound but I think that there are specific styles (?) of the sound that distinguish them. Funhouse has some 'carinval' sounds (such as Bad Influence) and The Truth About Love has some too (but I don't know how to describe them, they're seen most on The Truth About Love the song).
