Anyone love the Greg Hind version of the Neighbours tune, and wish it was used today?

Anyone remember this version?

I do, and I think it's the best version of the Neighbours theme, by far. Like the original a lot, but really hate the rest of them from 2000 onwards.

The end credits theme is fab too!

I so wish that this theme came back, and was used today. I'd put Channel 5 on just to hear it again.

I've got the three DVDs released so far. Defining Moments, plus the Iconic Episodes vol.1 & Iconic Episodes vol.2. Some of the episodes on these contain this version.

I'd like to get the two other sets that have just been released over the Summer, From the Beginning vol. 1 and the Charlene boxset, but they are expensive and hard to get hold of.

I so agree. I remember my family and parents, grandparents use to watch this. the theme tune really was catchy and dominent. which probably played a huge part in drawing viewers in and added effect to the cliff-hangers.

This theme tune and the oroginal one protrayed a message to viewers that 'This is Neighbours time'

Also I always thought that this theme tune really hooked a family audience and created a show which got all 3 generations together on the sofa in its own entity rather than be seen as teen show.

I'd love that theme to be re-introduced to the show, or more so, this one (my favourite theme....)

I must admit the version you linked ay first was the one my twin nieces as babies used to dance to when it was on! They never danced to anything else, but they could be sitting in their high chairs, just about managing to sit up and soon as the neighbours tunes came on, they'd start rocking back and forth in their chairs, dancing along!!!! That's such a great memory, so have to think of that version fondly!!!

Yes, this is lovely. One of the two best versions of Neighbours theme ever done. I think I prefer the end credits version better, as it is longer, so you can hear more of the tune:

By the way, I have got 30 second Mp3 samples of the end credits to both versions on my phone. The 1989 and 1992 themes that is. I can set any one of them as my ringtone whenever I want to.

I may get out my Neighbours DVDs in the next few days and watch them. There are some great episodes on there. The Waterhole explosion, Scott and Charlene's wedding, Todd's death, Jim's Death, Helen's death, Cheryl Stark getting hit by a car, Brad and Beth getting married, the big fire at the Lasitter's complex in 2004, which I believe was shown in the UK around March 2005, plus Toadie searching for Dee who had gone missing on his wedding day. I think I must have around 63 episodes in total on these three DVD sets.

I only duplicate once with an episode. The Scott and Charlene wedding features on both Defining Moments plus one of the Iconic Episodes DVDs.

Haha cool
The Neighbours theme these days is bland and too 'modern' I'd love a new version to come out more similar to the older themes (from the 80's and 90's.) Both themes remind me of my childhood as everyday I'd watch Neighbours with my parents, brother or grandparents.
