Recently I started on the Work Programme and the guy who did the Welcome session told us how flawed that website is. He also told us how he had spoken to one woman who applied for a job on there, got an interview only to find out the job was a fake when she turned up for the interview. When she got home, she discovered she had been burgled.

Outsource plus got me my previous job which was a temporary contract. However i didnt apply on reed, it was jobsite
So why would they claim i applied for one of their vacancies when there is no evidence of me applying for it? They said they tried to called to call me on my mobile but were unsuccessful yet my phone was on all night and there was no sign of a missed call.

Surprisingly enough, i had to call them back too. I had the same problems with job centre plus as well as the home office, think theyre trying to minimize their calling costs, bit cheeky!

I read that one on facebook as well. Also Ian Huntley is secretly working in your local Asda. And people are putting coloured stickers on your house so they can steal your dogs.

But this case it was a bogus e-mail as the reference number was too long for a reed reference number, Reed's reference numbers are 8 characters long and this one was 9 characters, even the person from their website department who i spoke to on the phone agreed this was a dodgy e-mail.

as far as my "Review your skills" problem goes, I emailed them, with some examples and got this back

Dear Ian,

Thank you for contacting Universal Jobmatch.

We are currently investigating this issue and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you for bringing these jobs to our attention.

If you require further assistance please contact us again.
Kind regards
Universal Jobmatch Helpdesk
if they are going job by job, then they will never solve this thing, as it seems to be most or all of the jobs I look at, which have a problem.

I checked on the review my skills section for a job as a store assistant at Lidl. It gives the skills for a Specialty Store Assistant Manager and states that the qualifications required are a Bachelors degree.
I know the value of a degree has dropped but that's taking it a bit too far.

That site just gets worse day by day.

It's simple.. Don't go for the 'Company Confidential' jobs.

Indeed, nor Jobs Warehouse or CV-Library.co.uk.

Both appear to be nothing more than spammers and also seem to be nicking job descriptions from other websites.

What the DWP/Government SHOULD have done with UJM is to make it more like Indeed.co.uk, where it isn't a jobsearch websites as such, but a site that searches other jobsites instead, giving relevant results from a whole wealth of major job search websites.

I'm sure it's been mentioned earlier in the thread but what exactly is this 'Job warehouse' thing? I asked at the Job Centre and the advisers didn't know either!

I agree, websites only advertise 30% of jobs, with the other 70% you have to find yourself.

It's a trick, you see the job 'administrator' and then you see 'company confidential' but in reality, they want you to walk the streets delivering catalogues

Sorry if I've made spelling mistakes, I'm on my phone and on the bus!!

I was told I had to go on universal job match but I don't have to apply for any jobs on it. They just want me on there so I can write my job search on it and in my book AND do a screen print. Makes no sense to me. I'm just going to write a very vague CV with no indepth details on it and if I get offered something, I'll send my real CV after checking out the company myself.

I'm on the Work programme, but nobody has said anything about having to sign up to the Jobmatch site. I only go to the job centre to sign on, and the Work Programme providers don't ask which jobs I've applied for. They get us in a dozen at a time for 'training sessions' (eg CV writing).

I have never heard of Work Programme, I'm annoyed because last week Advisor A told me to record my findings and everything on Jobmatch, so I did that, then I go in today to sign and Advisor B told me to fill in a piece of paper when I clearly explained to her that it was on Jobmatch.

OMG I actually found a job worth applying for. A real company, with a real name not a warehouse, library/CC etc. Not all that good pay, but at least getting there would be straightforward.

I feel faint.

still finding jobs, with the wrong "Review your skills" profile

Part Time Sales Assistant becomes, Time and Materials Control Clerk - Production.

Will they ever learn?

I saw an ace job this week for someone to work in a temple and meditate all day.

Found this in a response to a FOI request:

Claimants will never be asked to provide DWP staff with their Government Gateway User ID;
this is personal to the claimant and must not be shared.

If you have not allowed the DWP access to your account how did you prove that you have created one? Did you use screenshots?

What exactly did you screenshot to show your advisor?

You do not have to allow them access, if they say you do then they are lying to you.

1st thing my advisor said to me when i went for my last appointment - "You STILL havent allowed me access to your job match account"

They will never access my account unless it becomes mandatory
