Can Michael really win?

Michael is not good at Latin dances however his ballroom is superb. Is this enough to win?

I wouldn't say his ballroom is superb, for a start. Saturday's dance, despite the smoke and mirrors from the fabulous Natalie, has some problems, mainly for me, his horrible arm and hands. His Latin for this weekend is looking pretty good, apart from, again, those hands.

If the producers decide they want him to the end and not Louis, then he has a good chance. I think he's very popular with the public as the "journey" boy. I like him and love Natalie, though there is no way I would ever say he is the best dancer or entertainer in this group. But I have a soft spot for him and love the relationship he has with Nat.

Amen to that. If you just watch Michael dancing in isolation he's still stiff and hesitant - he's far from being superb, I'd say he's improved and is good...and can lift Nat without dropping her. He also has a similar emoting problem as Louis but his face can look glazed and frozen throughout a lot of his dancing.

Natalie is really a genius at creating glorious shapes around Michael that make him look as if he's doing a lot more. That's not a criticism as I like Nat a lot. And you'll notice that the judges aim a lot of compliments at Nat...not Michael as such.

Probably not.

I'd say dont underestimate his latin, it's improving. I was astonished at the control he's showing in his AT, cant see anything wrong in timing in the clips we've seen, so it could be a high scorer. I'm very excited to see it

I believe he needs to avoid the dance off against Dani and Denise, possibly Lisa

Dont underestimate Louis and Flavia as well
Kimberley unknown quantity for me, dont know how far she will go in the competition

Could Michael win, I'd love him to.

Will he win? Unknown, I'm guessing it wont be Denise, but could be anyone out of Michael, Lisa, Dani, Louis.

I like him and think hes the only genuine one left in but sadly will not win due to his Latin.

Hope he can at least make the semi

If people are looking for technical excellence maybe not, but if they are looking for effort and determination then maybe. The best dancer hasn't won every year.

He's never gonna pull as many votes as Louis sadly!
Would love him to win purely for his attitude, improvement and his gorgeous relationship with Natalie. He deserve to outlast nicky and Victoria, after that I suppose you never know, the best dancers don't always win do they!!!

When this series started I thought Michael was a total plank, and I was really disappointed that the sublime Natalie had been stuck with him. But he has won me over with his hard work and down to earth good nature, and of course his tremendous improvement with Natalie's skilful tuition.

No I don't think he can win, but he may well make the semis (particularly if people start seeing through the Lisa & Robin 'Groundhog Day' performances!)

Michael was hopeless at the start, but he's improved a lot. Wouldn't be a disaster IMO if he won.

As time goes on I am thinking that he does have a chance although I really hope he doesn't. It was exactly the same in the year that Chris & Ola won. I remember thinking at about this stage in the competition that Chris could actually win and it hadn't even occured to me before then.

Chris was never in the bottom 2 unlike Michael who's already been there once, which suggests he's not as popular as Chris was.

Interestingly though, Michael has the best winner's profile based on age, place of birth and profession:

I really cringed at Michael's first dances. I really have only warmed to him recently. I feel comfortable watching him now. I like his improvement and the Huge amount of training hours he's put in. Personally I think that's the point of the show. I don't want to see stage school dancing. Like Louis too though. Louis is a better dancer.

To me the point of the show is making a non dancer into a good dancer from what ever their background. Michael is improving week by week and really putting all his effort into it and enjoying it. He gets my vote because of that..

Can he win? Hope so, the public seem to be taking to him but must improve the Latin..

If not then i go for Louis..will never vote for the stage school trained performers

I think he stands an outside chance.
I too won't vote for stage-school graduates so that rules out a huge tranche for me.

And, as said by others before, to be a worthy winner his Latin has to improve a little more.

If everyone had thought the same, we would never have had past winners such as Jill, Alesha, Tom and Kara.

Much as I love Michael & Natalie (who is the best pro in the series) and would love to see them win, but I don't think they will . His ballroom is good and improving, but his Latin is still weak, though getting better - there are better/more consistent dancers left in who he would stuggle against in a dance off. I would be surprised and devasted if Nicky or Victoria (and to a certain extent Lisa) stay in longer than Michael, who to me has improved and looks to be really enjoying the whole experience.

I'd hope not - he's a one trick pony and his Latin isn't up to par with the Ballroom. I'd rather an all-rounded winner.

I hope so! I'll be voting for him tonight!

I didnt vote for any of them to win...

The public overall will vote for the best dancer on most occasions and not be swayed by previous experience and i accept that.
