Upgrading Foxsat HDR with larger HDD (revisited)
I have read loads and loads of stuff on how to swap out the HDD in a Humax Foxsat and replace it with a larger capacity hard disc, but not so much that's recent.
I have only a 320GB model and want to try a ITB drive or larger. Can anyone help with suggestions for models known to work? Also, I saw some folks were saying 1TB was the limit that the Foxsat could format and then saw other folks saying they'd had no problems with larger drives. So - what is the currently accepted position on what models work; and what the limit is for formatting by the Foxsat? I don't want to have to format it via PC as I don't have the IT skills and have never used Linux. I also want to transfer everything currently on the drive to the new drive. Someone suggested cloning the disc using Acronis True Image, a suggestion I'm attracted to but would this be relatively straightforward? I used to have the original Tivo - ah Tivo how this house misses you...! - and paid a company whose name I no longer remember to replace its hard drive with a larger model.Anyone know anyone who does this for less-than-fully-IT-savvy folks like me? Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated.
