App/ Program preventing shutdown Windows 8
Recently I've been getting a problem when I try to restart my computer a message comes up telling me that an App is preventing shutdown . It doesn't specify what the App is and I find that the computer more often than not gets stuck in an endless attempt to shut down , is there any way I can find out which App is causing this ?

Close all programs and look in Task Manager under Applications to see if anything is still running.

It shows what the machine is waiting for before going into the required state, it can change from bootups as it depends if your AV is doing a scan of a large archive file and wants to finish it before stopping or windows search is indexing your pr0n collection
