Definitely B for me........in the end it wasn`t about a talent show but all about judges hysterics/abusive comments/tantrums/manipulation/personal egos etc (tick appropriate boxes)

I'm not so sure solely changing judges will do it, it think the format was part of the problem - the judges are always going to want to win when they become part of the process - yes, there will be one's who will do it maturely and professionally but can you name 3?

I think both need to be looked at...

I agree totally..... the show should be about finding unknown talent, and this was spoilt by the competitive bickering from the Judges, I think that the 3 main Judges should be neutral and the 3 categorys should be mentorred by different people.....any one been watching can't sing singers...now theres an idea

ps my spelling is useless

God, I hope they don't change the judges. Their "fights" were the most entertaining bits. A bit like Celebrity Jerry Springer (except no one was related). It's all a bit of fun, people on here take it too seriously. It's like WWE wrestling.

If he's a judge then he shouldn't be a mentor as well (and the same goes for the other two judges). By all means let the mentors compete but then we should have a genuinely impartial judging panel.

Ultimately all the acts were denied useful, constructive criticism which would have helped them - something that they've always had on Pop Idol.

I have to agree on this and really imo that's the root of the problem of the show's format. They really should have an on-show judging panels and separate battling mentors.

well it would make the show calmer if all judges were impartial and working together to find the right acts, but actually i quite liked the way that each judge mentored their own category, because entirely, each judge knows what their looking for and each judge wants the winner to be the most superior.

Yeah I agree as well. I think having different judges and mentors makes far more sense because, as Diva says, how can a judge give an impartial decision when they are emotionally attached to some of the acts involved. Sharon and Louis failed dismally at this, and even though Simon was far better and did praise the other acts, I bet even he wouldn't have picked one of the other judges acts over his own.

Well, sorry to disagree with the majority - but it's A for me I loved the series - one of the most entertaining 'reality' type shows of it's kind.

Liked the mix of acts, thought the final nine were a varied and eclectic mix (with one or two spanners - naming no names ) - enjoyed the rivalry between the judges - even though each in turn annoyed or irritated me at some point. Thought the competition has found some true talents that may not have had such exposure if it weren't for the risk of entering this competition.

For the next show, I guess they could lose Louis as a judge because he is a bit of a non personality - but the question is who would replace him? Better the devil you know and all that.

However agree that there should be a totally impartial judge - e.g. perhaps a different member of the public each week to give their honest appraisal of the acts - someone who has no vested interest.

It has to be an 'A' for me - I love watching the judges interact - roll on X Factor 2. It seems such a long time away at the moment, sigh... thank goodness there's Celebrity BB and BB to watch in the meantime.

It is a bit of A and a bit of B. They should scrap the bottom two singing again, the first week it was entertaining, and the second week and then it got boring. Maybe in the first week say that two of the judge's choices will go and be replaced with one (to make sure the numbers decline) choice of the six who didn't get through to the final nine. Make it more interesting.

Keep Sharon, Simon but change Louis to Pete Waterman. Even though the arguments between Sharon and Simon are staged, when they do not choose who's acts go through, it will get pettier when they cannot choose.

B. I would rather not have Sharon and Louis offending my senses every week. Both have demonstrated their inability to professional on numerous occasions.

A lot of you seem to have a problem with the whole point of the show. The singers were always likely to be secondary - see this quote from a 'source' in a DS report back in April...

"It will be like judge wars – will Louis Walsh win the show or will Simon Cowell? They will be doing everything they can to win the Saturday night show and will pull out every trick in the book to do so."

If you were watching it for what it was meant to be, rather than thinking it was Pop Idol, it was hugely enjoyable. They should not make any changes.

C - would not watch the second series unless the format was given a facelift, the presenter changed, and the mentors were separate people from the judges...I found myself watching Strictly Come Dancing instead of X-factor a lot of the time, I'd quite happily watch something else instead of X-F 2 if nothing changes.

I think a battle between mentors would be more entertaining - they wouldn't need to be at all reserved in giving opinions on the other acts

I'd rather watch a series on one person, or a few people, going through the highs and lows of making their own way to success.

Cary and David Grant were great voice coaches on PI1 and fame academy and were neutral. They could have the judges but all have the same voice coaches, same stylist and pick their own tunes with advice from Cary and David. Those 3 judges would still fight but it would be about who they like not who is in their camp. Yeah I know SC will try to manipulate us but isn;t everybody wise to that now

What she/he said.

If they stick to the same formula as the original programme I can't say that I'll be tuning in.
