Ms Dynamite
Jillstar
17-12-2004
I have just noticed on the "so what are your musical hates?" thread, that Ms Dynamite was on there.
I don't have a clue why everyone a year or so ago everyone was saying how great she was, and off, the top of my head she only released 2 or 3 singles?
Why is it then, if she has only released 2 or 3 singles, and she hasn't been around for a couple of years, that she got to sing on the Band Aid 20 single, and also why did she win loads of awards, when she hardly sung anything?
Actually, the only song I remember her singing was "Ms Dynamitee" which in my opinion was rubbish! What do you think?

Well was she pregnant, had her child and took time off.
She had three songs out her debut single 'Booo!' and then Dynamite,"It Takes More".Top 10 hits.

Also her albumn Producers and collaborators on A Little deeper include dancehall legends Tony and Dave Kelly, Barrington Levy, Steely and Clevie and Kymani Marley

A limited edition second album A Little Darker has been released to satisfy garage fans desperate for a "Booo!" follow up.

Lost for words - Sept 04
Ms Dynamite is struggling with her latest album.

The Mercury Music Prize winner has told press that she has lost all her inspiration and is having so much trouble thinking up new songs she has appealed for help from other songwriters. The singer is under pressure to follow up her 2002 debut and the expectation is reportedly really getting to poor old Dynamite-te.

Also she has earned enough:
Dynamite wages - 14/04/03
Ms Dynamite's earnings rocketed sky high when she earned £4,000 a minute for one gig.

The heavily pregnant star was on stage for just six minutes at a top bash in a West London club - and sang only two songs. So let's see - that makes a grand total of £24,000 for less than the time it takes to make macaroni, raspberries, chicken and pineapple punch - not bad at all!

Dynamite in the can - 08/04/03
Kentish Town singing sensation Ms Dynamite has signed a £1 million deal to promote Pepsi.

She will be helping children from tough backgrounds to break into the music business and become stars of the future.

The rap star will be pictured on millions of cans, sporting a glamorous new image.

Pepsi will also be sponsoring Ms Dynamite's gig at the Brixton Academy in South London on April 26 - her only full UK concert in 2003.

I like her, and thought her ablum was excellent. The reason she got onto the Band Aid thing probably has a lot to with the fact that she's done alot for causes and took part in the 46664 or whatever that was called concert.
