Looking for a thread

Is there a thread anywhere of Vincent's linguisitc blunders? Although I have a hunch some may be contrived for comic purposes it doesn't matter much to me, I find his occassional mangling of the English langauge amusing and rather endearing.

I would be surprised if I am the only one who enjoys phrases such as "standing ovulation" entertaining. So I am guessing some enterprising FM has at some time started a thread to collect them togther.

Anyone know of one?

When you find it, do tell Dani whether Vincent meant to say pose or pause......

I hope someone manages to find this for you.

Given the years Vincent has lived in the UK, and the fact that his language blunders seem to have materialised only this year, I would say they are all contrived.

Well maybe but not necessarily. I have spoken Spanish for years and lived in Spain for 3. My brain still retrieves the wrong word periodically. Only a couple of weeks ago I used the verb to spell instead of to try - no possible connection between the two yet the search engine in my brain collected the wrong result. And when it comes to the more idiomatic phrases well I could go on for hours about my strange, or embarrassing or sometimes comic blunders.

If he is contriving them I applaud his comedic skills.

I believe Vincent has been living in UK nearer 15 years than 3; and his English has always been fluent until now.

Vincent has remembered how big Manuel went down in Fawlty Towers.

Why didn't you just start a thread about Vincent's malapropisms, instead of one asking for such a thread?
