nexus 7 vs samsung tab 2 10.1

I have had the nexus 7 for about a month and really like it but thinking of changing it for a Samsung tab 2 mainly because of the bigger screen and the fact with £50 cash back its actually cheaper than my nexus now.

Are they similar tablets?

Ha if I could afford it but with the cash back offer Samsung 10.1 works out at £188, I don't think the nexus 10 will be that cheap!

If the only difference is the screen size then I'll change but I know Samsung 10.1 has Ice Cream Sandwich instead of Jelly Bean...just wondering if I'd be losing some functionality?

The samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 will be getting an update to Jelly bean at some point in the near future.

I suppose Jelly bean would make it smoother (project butter) and faster. You would also have google now, improved notifications, better camera features and the ability to create different user accounts.

One thing to note is that the Nexus 7 has NFC, whereas the galaxy tab 2 10.1 doesn't. On the other hand the galaxy tab has a rear camera and the Nexus 7 doesn't.

I'm really pleased with my 10.1" Tab2 I got (cashback takes a couple months by the way) - I do wish the screen resolution was a little higher though as it could benefit but it's no big deal.

Battery life seems pretty good too.
