Apologies if this has already been posted, but what on earth is he doing there? Not only is he completely unfunny, but he also has the attitude of a socially awkward nerd in high school being forced to give a talk in front of the class, despite wishing he could crawl into a hole and hide. Is it supposed to come across like that?

Can there be any possible reason he was employed for the job ? I can't think of one.

I'm thinking ITV couldn't get anyone better, and employed him last minute. As Russell Kane has gone over to the dark side, *cough* the bbc *cough*, they probably couldn't afford an ACTUAL famous comedian...

Why do these whatever-his-name-is bashing threads keep popping up? I find him really funny! Stumbles over his words a bit, but his material is hilaire! Bit hit and miss here and there, but his improv also stacks up too! He's not bad.

He's pretty poor, but so was the guy who used to do that role. To be honest, Now has become completely unwatchable these days - how Joe Swash has kept that role for three years is beyond me.

I thought I was hallucinating. Was thinking, " At least this can't get any worse", when some woman in a bikini yelling stuff and playing a piano came on. Haha. Is the producer OK ? Or should there be a lie down in a darkened room and some medication ?

At the moment the funniest thing about his monologue is the forced laughter from behind the camera.

The comedian on the panel, Joel, is a lot more at ease and funnier.

I was thinking that ! I'm fascinated by the obviously planned and automatic laughter. I think that if - god forbid, a pterodactyl flew down, got Rob whoever he is in it's mighty toothy beak and flew off with him, the crew would laugh dutifully, even as bits of him fell off from the sky en route to be eaten in a nest on some faraway mountain peak.

I reckon that he's someone who wandered in off the road and got the job by mistake when he'd only been near the place having got lost on his way to a train spotting convention.

I`m actually embarrassed for the comedian at this stage. He couldn`t get less funny if he tried. He had potential comedy gold with Helen and her fake tanned face, but he totally fluffed it, he couldn`t think of a single funny thing to say.

This is the first year that I've really watched the ITV 2 programme, and have to confess that I quite enjoy it. The singing woman last night was awful though, they haven't had anything like that before, and hopefully it won't be repeated.

At first I wasn't too keen on the comedian, but once you get used to his persona, he actually has some quite good material. The show also depends on who the guest panelists are, last week they had Keith Duffy, and he was very good.

Is he really worse than Russell Kane? It's some achievement if they've found someone less funny.

^^^This. I know it's fashionable to have a side-show for the main one but Now is nothing if not dire.

I would rather they scrapped Now, extended the main show to include more footage of the campmates and any spare money they've saved can go to paying for more interesting trials.

In my opinion, he definitely is. He's not funny, just awkward. Have you watched GMOOHN? Judge him for yourself, but if you didn't like Russell then I doubt you will like whateverhisnameis. How bad is that? I can't even remember his name!

Not just me then that thinks like that. I haven't laughed once at his unfunny stumbled over dialogue. And people laughing hysterically in the background certainly don't make it any funnier

You know those American films in which students go off to the woods to camp and the audience can guess who a zombie/vampire/bloke in a pig mask clutching a chainsaw /insane local hillbilly is going to murder first ? Well that's who he reminds me of. The one who's burbling on and on and wanders off for a pee....

I laughed once at his round-up tonight. Yes I had reached the point of zero expectation, and yes the laugh was more based on, "It's sort of funny compared to the rest of his material", but I laughed. So there.
