Recasting Suzy Branning...
Maggie O'Neill's stint as Suzy was not a success...if Suzy was to return who could play her?

Yeah, Camille or Linda robson would be great as Suzy
Because the actress was fired and things had to be re-written, I always felt there was unfinished business between her and Phil and would like to see that revisited. |

I actually liked Maggie playing Suzy and wouldn't mind her returning. |

What did she do? So that 'poisonous button mushroom' vinegar lips Xmas exit scene wasn't acting then?

Yeah, because she clashed with Sam Womack, the guy who played Sean slater and Barbara Windsor on set.

Maggie O'Neill was great as Suzy! I'd only want Suzy back with her in the role because she had such a commanding presence as the character. As much as I like Robson and Coduri, they're not Suzy. Suzy is a sexy, seductive ice Queen - neither of those have much sex appeal!
But Coduri would be great as April. You could certainly buy Coduri and O'Neill as sisters. |

I'd love to see Suzy and April both brought back - it was reported Maggie O'Neil didnt get on with Sam Womack and Rob Kazinsky and they've both left the show now so that shouldnt be a problem. I dont think they should recast her Maggie was brilliant as Suzy.
Camille Coduri would a be a good recast for April if Debbie Arnold didnt want to return - they do have a strong resemblance. Although Coduri is 10 years younger than Arnold - but seeing Debbie Arnold on Corrie the other week she looks about 15 - 20 years younger than her actual age anyway. |

Maggie O'Neill is one of the best actresses in the country. I adored her as Sheila in Shameless - probably her best ever role.
I have seen some clips of her in EastEnders, obviously the infamous Christmas scenes, and she is just sublime. |

Camille Coduri would be a much better fit for April rather than Suzy. I don't think a return for Suzy is needed either, I didn't really like her and if it wasn't for her goodbye speech I very much doubt anyone would want her to return. I think we have enough Brannings, but April would be more interesting as a returnee because of her relationship with Carol who is crying out for a friend now Glenda has left.
