Heard from a friend of a friend whose mentioned the over-whelming amount of support the scousers are giving Chris.

He's apparently very popular in Liverpool and everyone absolutely loves him. Maybe that explains how he's got so far?

I think if I was a Liverpudlian I'd be extremely offended at "everyone absolutely loves him". You're effectively calling them all thick and that couldn't be further from the truth.

Gosh! They are easily pacified if a Maloney win is all it takes to get them over being maligned for decades.

What a ridiculous over statement! Everyone? The whole of Liverpool? I spend a lot of time in Liverpool and my partner lives there, working in one of the big hospitals, we have both said the same thing, it is impossible to find anyone who admits to liking Christopher. The older people there I've chatted to prefer Jahmene because he is a 'lovely boy', people do not blindly support Christopher just because he's a Scouser. Some absolutely can't stand him as a representative of their city and have defaced some of the posters.

Sure he will be getting some support from his home city as every contestant will be but it really is a curious anomaly his clear popularity because of real actual scousers I know in the city, they cannot stand him.

I didn't mean to insinuate the 'whole of Liverpool' ... I wanted to put a positive spin on Chris winning which looks like it could happen.
It does still leave that unanswered question ... Who are these people voting en mass for him???

Like I said it really is curious because I personally have never met a Christopher fan in the city or anywhere for that matter but clearly they do exist and in huge numbers. I'm wondering how much of it is actual fans and how much of it is an 'anti vote' to deliberately sabotage or people fed up with the clear manipulation to get rid of him - bad comments, fed negative press stories, Caroline Flack on Xtra Factor and any number of paid guests and now the Syco acts themselves bad mouthing him. I'd say a large majority of votes for him are 'Get at Cowell votes' and his actual fanbase is not actually that big.

If he does win by the way, he certainly won't have the support of his city buying his winners single as they will all be too busy buying the Justice Collective's charity single for the Hillsborough families and THAT reaching Christmas number one which it is odds on to do will be vindication for the city of Liverpool, not some bloke winning XFactor.

Apparently he's getting more support up there than the likes of Rebecca, Marcus Collins and Ray Quinn ever did.

He isn't, don't know where you got that idea from. There is nowhere near the same buzz. Don't know about Ray because I didn't work in Liverpool then, but there was much more interest and buzz about Rebecca and Marcus.

I think it's mostly older women and anti Cowell people voting for him with some support from Liverpool.

I'm a Liverpudlian and I can safety say Liverpool doesn't love him! They took to Marcus, Craig and Rebecca but nobody likes him! I have a lad (also from Liverpool) on my Facebook who left a status saying 'Urgh! Should have been Chris in the bottom 2!' When it was Ella and James an it got over 40 likes. All my friends are loving James and Jahmene. I don't know where Chris' votes are coming from but he certainly is NOT popular here.

He's not. Not even close. Liverpool got behind Rebecca, Marcus, Craig, Eton Road and Ray. People here don't like Chris, the only people I know here who like him are the people who know him.

Most of my friends & family are from Liverpool - I can assure you that they are not supporting Maloney.

Christopher has voters all over the UK. People need to just come to terms with that. I know it might hurt some people but he would not be as far as he is if all his votes came from just one area.

You should see my Facebook on Sundays after 9, its in meltdown at people cursing him getting through] saying he's an embarrassment to Liverpool.

A work mate from Liverpool absolutely hates him and she says there is hardly any support in Liverpool for him, when I mentioned about Rebecca Ferguson she said there was a lot more support for her.

She also said that all her friends dislike Chris, that he gives Liverpudlians a bad name - she also said something quite interesting - 'I've heard from one of my friends that he's got a reputation around the clubs, he thinks he is some kind of diva'

Exactly what I said, you can get chatting to people very easily in Liverpool, on the underground or on buses etc and I'm yet to find a fan of him, there is nowhere near the same level of support as there was for Marcus and Craig or Rebecca, even local radio aren't massively backing him from what I've heard, they see him as the weakest Liverpool candidate they've had. There's certainly no evidence of massive campaigns and like I said the only posters I've seen have been defaced. Posters and support for Marcus for example, were everywhere.

It's the same as people saying the McDonalds and Leon stayed in because 'the Scottish vote'.

No and I'm sure the family of my mate won't think after 23 yrs of trying to clear his name .. Some bloke winning x factor won't of made that fight worth while
