I think you guys from Liverpool saying "everyone you know doesn't like him" etc must be in the minority or something. Or are you from over the water?

He's the best thing since sliced bread to those scousers apparently.
Nope I'm not over the water, I'm right in the city centre actually. He's not the best thing since sliced bread here, and people here do not like him and that's not the minority, it's the majority.

He works for Liverpool City Council, maybe they're voting none stop?

But seriously, I can guarantee you people aren't bowing down to him here. People aren't really interested in him and are shocked he's getting through every year.

I don't think we can blame Liverpool for this. There are strange people all over the country backing him. Sigh.

If you say that on here, people who say they are from Liverpool will deny it.

I think if I was a Liverpudlian I'd be extremely offended at "everyone absolutely loves him". You're effectively calling them all thick and that couldn't be further from the truth.
You are effectively calling everyone that likes Chris thick then. I fail to see how musical taste is linked to intelligence. My Gran is actually a very intelligent woman I'll have you know. Some people are so rude.

Maybe if they threw in a job lot of shell suits.
Well there's always some wet behind the ears troll around who's all too ready to put their hand in their pocket. So how many can we put you down for?

Heard from a friend of a friend whose mentioned the over-whelming amount of support the scousers are giving Chris.

He's apparently very popular in Liverpool and everyone absolutely loves him. Maybe that explains how he's got so far?
Bullshit!!

Chris could go on to be a successful singer, especially with his strong fan base from Liverpool behind him.

What a ridiculous over statement! Everyone? The whole of Liverpool? I spend a lot of time in Liverpool and my partner lives there, working in one of the big hospitals, we have both said the same thing, it is impossible to find anyone who admits to liking Christopher. The older people there I've chatted to prefer Jahmene because he is a 'lovely boy', people do not blindly support Christopher just because he's a Scouser. Some absolutely can't stand him as a representative of their city and have defaced some of the posters.

Sure he will be getting some support from his home city as every contestant will be but it really is a curious anomaly his clear popularity because of real actual scousers I know in the city, they cannot stand him.
I am from liverpool and I wouldnt say I hate him but would not vote for him james arther for me and everyone I have spoken to cant stand him so really dont know were the votes are coming from

It's more than a coincidence.

Well a little is better than none at all, I suppose. Perhaps you could track them down, and see if some of it rubs off? Conversely, you could just just do a little research. If nothing else, it may prevent future posts from smacking of searing envy

The people of Liverpool look at Chris as a fresh alternative to the Beatles.

That's probably why he's so liked up there.

Do you know what , the people of Liverpool deserve their winner. They have finally been exonerated from any blame in the Hillsborough disaster and must feel severely cheated by the tabloid media for a very long time.
I'm not sour about it , they deserve a reason to celebrate being a Liverpudlian.
I hadn't considered this until I read a post from a scouser earlier and suddenly it all made sense to me.
They deserve this victory and it won't be the end of the world even if Chris isn't the best contestant the others will still do well if they have real talent.
I'm sorry . Do you know how patronising you sound. I don't need any reason to be proud that I am from Liverpool. I love my city , and if you and many others who think its full of scallys, and thief's and its the back of beyond. Would Care to come to are wonderful city. You won't be disappointed. I personally am behind Chris and voting for the lad, as I like his voice. He has got of his backside and is trying to do something with his life that he truly loves doing. He isn't sat at home claiming social , thinking the world owes him a living. He is doing something with his life. And people think its humorous to slate him and his family. I think they need to look in the mirror.
