Do you know what , the people of Liverpool deserve their winner. They have finally been exonerated from any blame in the Hillsborough disaster and must feel severely cheated by the tabloid media for a very long time.
I'm not sour about it , they deserve a reason to celebrate being a Liverpudlian.
I hadn't considered this until I read a post from a scouser earlier and suddenly it all made sense to me.
They deserve this victory and it won't be the end of the world even if Chris isn't the best contestant the others will still do well if they have real talent.

How would Chris winning (perish the thought) reflect on the people of Liverpool in any way whatsoever? The fact that he was born in Liverpool was simply an accident of birth.

If I was a scouser i'd be offended by your condescending post, but being from manchester I find it mildly amusing.

From my knowledge, he's a lot more liked and popular up there than any other scouse contestant, by an absolute country mile.

Those scousers worship the ground he walks on apparently.

Fresh alternative to the Beatles.
as fresh as a few insects . grant you that

I promise you faithfully that most scousers can't stand him. It's not a regional vote, there's a silent majority of over 50s all over the country that love his old-fashioned style.
It has to be said that a lot of late teens/early 20's would be out on a Saturday night & its more likely that oldies would sit in and watch the X Factor. Hence the popularity of acts like Jahmene and Christopher

I think you've pretty much nailed why the X Factor - and shows like it - should stop being 'current'. They need to appeal to a wider audience.

For everyone who says Liverpool hates him - go check his Facebook, and Twitter. Most of his fans are from there.

Really? I find it very strange to think that scousers would think that! I know they can be very united, but seriously? Chris? His music is a very acquired taste, if you like dated 80's stuff, so not sure why he would be seen as a 'fresh' alternative, when he's already stale.

So when your friend said scousers, did she mean two old dears she chatted to at the bus stop, or is there some sort of massive thing going on in Liverpool and everyone has staged a 'we love Chris' thing?

Obviously I'm not a fan of Chris, but even in loyalty, can't see why anyone would pretty much make such huge declarations about someone who actually isn't that impressive and offers nothing new. Pretty sure there must be other Liverpool singers who are way better than him who they would feel this about?

But hey, if it is true - you know what they say, there's nowt as queer as folk!!!

Well if Liverpool does like him so much, I have no problem with them taking him back and putting him in a hall somewhere where they can go and listen to him when they have the urge. As long as I never have to hear or see him again, that will be just fine! Liverpool - he's all yours!

I really don't think people are voting for him because of the Hillsborough incident :S. I saw a thread the other day suggesting such.

Laura Palmer, thanks for that! Yes we need a champion because of Hillsborough? Are you insane? I am proud of my city and was long before Baloney came along! Yes he can sing in tune, but he does nothing for me!

Not all of Liverpool like him, although I do know a few who are supporting him because he is from here!

How nice for Liverpool. And after all they've been through.

How can Liverpool (population 450,000) get him millions of votes ?

The people voting for him are those that like his character, me nan, etc and i'm betting there's a growing backlash vote because he gets abuse from the judges every week.
