If Nicole had given him more songs like that then maybe people wouldn't think he is such a joke.

Too late now to sing in tune. Muppet. What's with pronouncing the word 'got' as 'gnot'. Those new teeth of his will be the death of him.

Blimey, that was really good, I think it is because the pressure is off, he knows he is going. Sad but he has done well.

We all know that the sing off is irrelevant anyway but from someone who gas not enjoyed his performances I quite enjoyed it

He can't sing more than about 4 words without taking a breath - let's not start saying that he can sing just because he's gone.

His sing-offs have provided his best singing.

In terms of ability he is only average+, but unlike Christopher and Jahmene he is rarely pitchy, and he has a decent tone to his voice which really comes through when he strips it down, even more so with his falsetto. Lots of poise too, and the confidence to carry it off. The sing-offs played to his strengths, be that what they were, so all of a sudden he seemed vastly improved as a singer.

He was really good (it does help that Wires is a better song than most of the acts ever get to sing normally!).

The weird thing is that, both times he's been in the sing-off, he's floored me with some decent, heart felt vocals.

So, what's the deal with the same naff, camp, dirge like rehashing a-la gay disco renderings of some of the greatest songs ever written....

Is it that he feels that's where the "lolly," is likely to be..because, if he does, he might be in for a shock!

I'd've had at least some respect for him, as a performer, if he'd mixed it up a little and come out with something rather than the usual during his time on the show..

As for his dealing with the situation..I'm pleasantly surprised and he has my utmost admiration...

I still wouldn't cross the street to see him perform though!

Rich.

Agreed. A few more songs like that, with sparse production, and he could have been perceived as - gasp - a credible singer. That said, he might have gone out earlier if he'd gone the 'serious' route, as he appeared to be cruising on the 'entertainment' factor.

All credit to him tonight, though. He really surprised me.

He wanted to sing Wires on one of the earlier Saturday shows

Was told no. Infuriating.

The judges (minus Gary) tell him that he is the entertaiment week in, week out, so he's not going to play with that particular formula. And it allows Gary to do his Punch and Judy act too.

I love how Rylan sings normally, and is mediocre at best, but because everyone expects him to be shit, they think he actually sounds good. People are amazed he can sing roughly in tune, and yet he made it to 5th.

It wasn't that for me. I think his tone really suited the song. I don't care to judge whether he is a technically good singer but it sounded pleasant to my ears. In fact I think if one of the so called credible singers had sung like that in a normal Saturday performance it would have been considered a great performance by the judges. Union J sung well as well but I personally found that them a little dull whereas Rylan was capitivating.
