Why should the SG's be celebs of this or any year since 2008 because they've done bugger all as a group since then.

ETA - your link doesn't work either.

Is there a margarine lid trophy being presented at the Premier Inn, Hanger Lane? If not than it's not a real award. Pah, COTY doesn't even sound real

I wonder how many hundreds of times the OP has voted for the Spice Girls for them to get over 30% of the votes?

Quite a poor selection really especially when compared to our sports stars.

I don't have the time to be voting thousands of times, darling.

I'm sure a few of the billions of people who watched The Spice Girls steal the show at The Olympics have been voting.

Actually I said hundreds duckie, not thousands.

Billions eh? I doubt most of them knew who they were as their relevance to pop music has long gone.

So irrelevant that their performance is Officially the second most watched moment of the entire games, second only to Usain Bolt's record breaking 100m win...

They are an iconic part of British pop history and cracked every major music market on the planet.

P.S I said 'thousands', duckie, because they are over a thousand votes ahead of One Direction at number two...

'Most watched' doesn't mean 'relevant'. Their day has passed so they need to rest on their laurels and retire gracefully. Geri couldn't sell a record if she tried, Mel C's reduced to flogging stuff on QVC, Mel B makes money from being a mouthy cow - the only ones who seem to be doing OK are Victoria and Emma, and they aren't even trying to sing.......

Don't these awards basically get given to whichever saddo is desperate enough to turn up on the day?

They have as much meaning as the Celebrity Mum/Dad of the year awards...it's all just PR teams manipulating the brainless.

BIB: Most watches = what people are most interested in seeing.

Interested in = relevant, surely?

Geri hasn't tried to release any solo music since 2005... so your opinion is just that, opinion. She sold 12 million solo records when she was trying!
She is releasing new solo material very soon... so if that flops, feel free to comment then. But having heard a couple of tracks, and knowing Geri, expect the unexpected.

Melanie C has been promoting her latest album Stages on QVC. Much like Mariah Carey, Joan Rivers, Charlotte Church etc. But that's not the only outlet she has used to promote her record (See: Chatty Man, Jonanthan Ross, Loose Women, This Morning, Children In Need, Alan Titchmarsh... You gotta work!) Her album is a fabulous mi of stage and show tunes - including Tell Me It's Not True from her role in Blood Brothers for which she recieved an Olivier nomination...

Mel does make money from being a 'mouthy cow'... fair comment. But it's working out well for her financially. Not got a lot of time for the woman personally. Shrug.

Emma doesn't really do much.

Victoria has been embraced by the fashion industry and I am extremely proud of her.

But regardless, I wouldn't worry about the success of any of the 'Girl's bank accounts, Viva Forever! will likely ensure a steady, substantial income for each of them for years to come and inspire a whole new generation of Girl Power.
